Job Summary The Technical Services Coordinator supports the Technical Services team by providing material recommendations, creating samples for customer testing, conducting internal product testing, and executing quoting and prepress tasks with precision. This role works closely with Customer Success and Manufacturing teams to ensure product specifications align with customer needs and manufacturing capabilities. Additionally, the Technical Services Coordinator collaborates with the Project Manager on internal initiatives and client-driven solutions and works alongside the Senior Solutions Engineer to troubleshoot challenges related to manufacturing and machine processes. A key aspect of this role is clearing redlines, implementing process updates, and optimizing job specifications for efficiency, quality, and scalability. Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments to drive continuous improvement in product development and manufacturing workflows. Key Responsibilities / Duties Provide Material Recommendations: Assess application requirements and recommend appropriate materials to meet customer specifications, durability needs, and cost considerations. Create Samples for Testing: Produce and prepare material and construction samples for customer evaluation and internal testing to validate performance. Conduct Internal Product Testing: Perform in-house testing on materials and constructions to ensure they meet quality and performance standards before production. Execute Quoting & Prepress Tasks: Prepare accurate job quotes based on material selection, production requirements, and cost analysis. Set up files and specifications in prepress to ensure smooth production workflows. Assist with Technical & Production Troubleshooting: Work closely with the Senior Solutions Engineer and production team to resolve printing, coating, and material-related challenges during manufacturing. Clear Redlines & Optimize Job Plans: Review production feedback, implement changes to job specifications, and refine processes to improve manufacturability and efficiency. Ensure Compliance & Process Optimization: Follow documented ISO quality processes to remain compliant and collaborate with the Quality team to refine workflows and eliminate inefficiencies. Project Tracking & Coordination: Utilize project management tools to monitor activity, priorities, and progress across multiple projects. Collaborate with the Project Manager on documentation and execution. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Maintain alignment with multiple departments"”including Quality, Marketing, Manufacturing and Customer Success"”to ensure product consistency and seamless service assistance. Manage Customer Success Requests: Communicate with Customer Success Coordinators on sample requests, material selection tools, and workflow processes to ensure smooth execution. Guide multiple teams to best-case solutions. Maintain Technical Documentation: Ensure material specifications, testing results, and process changes are accurately recorded. Work with the Project Manager, Marketing, and Technical Service teams to create and update technical documents. Support Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to refine quoting, prepress, and material selection processes to enhance efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness. Engage in Technical & Industry Development: Participate in learning opportunities to expand technical knowledge, stay current on industry advancements, and improve problem-solving skills. Other Duties as Assigned: Support additional tasks as directed by the Technical Services Project Manager to meet business and customer needs. Key Performance Indicators Quote Turnaround Time: Average time taken to generate and deliver accurate quotes. Prepress Turnaround Time: Average time taken to turnaround blueprints, printing plates, die lines and other files. Redline Closure Rate: Average time taken to review, update, and implement redlines from production feedback. Material Recommendation Success Rate: Percentage of recommended materials that meet customer needs and perform successfully in production. Sample Request Completion Time: Time from request to shipment of customer samples for testing. Tasks and Project Completions: Percentage of assigned Technical Services and project-based tasks successfully completed to advance project goals. Qualifications / Skills Education & Experience: Associate's or bachelor's degree in project management, manufacturing, engineering, graphic communications, or a related field preferred. Relevant academic projects, internships, or hands-on coursework in technical fields will be considered in place of direct work experience. Experience in labeling, packaging, printing, or a related industry is a bonus but not required. Technical & Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze job specifications, test data, and production feedback to identify opportunities for improvement. Familiarity with prepress software and file setup for print production is a plus but not required (training available). Exposure to estimating, quoting, or working with custom manufacturing projects through coursework, internships, or hands-on experience is preferred. Problem Solving & Process Improvement: Willingness to learn troubleshooting techniques for product and material-related issues in collaboration with production teams. Strong analytical mindset to refine material selection, optimize job plans, and improve efficiency. Experience working on process improvement projects, academic research, or team-based problem-solving is a plus. Interpersonal & Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams (customer success, production, engineering). Ability to explain technical concepts and testing results to both technical and non-technical audiences. Strong attention to customer needs and ability to provide clear material and product recommendations. Organization & Efficiency: Detail-oriented with strong documentation and record-keeping skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks while maintaining accuracy and efficiency. Strong time management skills to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
