Columbia University in the City of New York: Columbia University Irving Medical Center: Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons: Neurology Location 02 Open Date Dec 03, 2024 Salary Range or Pay Grade 200,000 - 250,000 Deadline Dec 02, 2025 at 11:59 PM Eastern Time Description The Epilepsy Division at Columbia University Irving Medical Center is seeking a full-time adult epilepsy specialist who focuses on laboratory research at the assistant or associate professor level. Applicants must be board certified or eligible in neurology, have completed or expect to complete fellowship training in epilepsy/EEG, and be board certified or board eligible in epilepsy and/or clinical neurophysiology. Epilepsy research experience with strong potential to secure independent funding, with a focus on basic and translational studies of tumor associated epilepsy is required. Applicants must obtain an unlimited physician license in New York State before appointment begins. The position will include outpatient evaluation and treatment of epilepsy patients, inpatient hospital service, and interpretation of EEG and video-EEG studies. A parallel clinical interest in tumor-associated epilepsy is a plus. Teaching of epilepsy/clinical neurophysiology fellows and neurology residents is also expected. Qualifications M.D. and Ph.D. degrees ABPN board certification in Neurology Board eligibility or certification in epilepsy and/or clinical neurophysiology Relevant research experience with track record of recent publications Faculty rank is expected to be at the Assistant or Associate level. Candidates must provide evidence of training, research experience and publications and have some teaching experience. Candidate must meet requirements for New York State medical licensure, as well as New York Presbyterian Hospital credentialing.
