Sous Chef Entre Nous French Bistro is a family-owned, expertly managed and well-established restaurant in Pasadena. We are a beloved spot for authentic and innovative French cuisine. We offer guests an authentic taste of France in a warm and inviting atmosphere. Our dedication to quality and exceptional service has earned us an exceptional reputation in the community. We are looking for a strong Sous Chef to join our family. You must be reliable, dedicated and rock solid on the line. The Chef wants you to be one step ahead of him, always. Our ideal candidate would have history working in high-end restaurants. The understanding of French technique is very important. This is a full-time position - 2pm to close, Wednesday thru Sunday - at $25 per hour. At some point this could become a salaried position with more responsibility.. Your initial responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: - Preparing sauces per recipe instructions from scratch, daily - Setting up the Saute' station for service, then running it - Portioning fish for service - Building out assigned mis en place - Supporting the Chef during service by providing warm plates based on tickets and assembling perfect offerings The things we require are not unusual, but essential: - Proven experience in a high volume kitchen - Ability to work under pressure - A strong work ethic, meaning this job comes first - Be reliable and on time every day Our promise is that this will be a great and fun learning experience. Challenging? Yes, but you can thrive here. The Chef is a true mentor and leader. Our kitchen team, including the dishwashers, have been together for two and a half years.
