DMK BURGER BAR is hiring! Located in the heart of Lakeview, DMK Burger Bar is a bustling neighborhood gem that serves up the best Chef Inspired Burgers, Hand Cut Fries, and Decadent Milkshakes since 2009. Burger Bar is the flagship restaurant of DMK restaurant group, which is among the most exciting and dynamic companies to work for. Our newly remodeled bar and expanded dinning room is now open and we are looking for talented, dedicated hospitality professionals to constitently WOW our guests and neighbors with delicious, finely executed gourmet burgers. Line Cook Qualifications: Minimum 3 years of experience in a full service kitchen, Burger focused experience highly preferred Must have excellent ablity to manage and lead all kitchen stations: griddle, fryers, shakes, EXPO, prep, and dish Experience with various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures Ability to follow and execute recipes to designated specifications High standards for cleanliness of workspace and service areas Strong work ethic and customer-focused approach Able to lead and direct the kitchen team Profifficent English Language communication, with Spanish language skills highly preferred Ability to work a flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends, and holidays Lead Line Cook Responsibilities: Must be a reliable, detail oriented, and passionate culinary professional Accurately and consistently follow and execute our Chef Inspired recipes Prepare high quality dishes to customer satisfaction in a face paced, high volume kitchen Maintain a thorough working knowledge of recipes, ingredients, allergens, and food presentation Ensure all the products and prepared items are properly labeled, dated, initialed, covered, and rotated following FIFO (first in, first out) Maintain organization and cleanliness while adhering to all safety and health practices Set up, stock, and replenish stations with inventory and supplies as needed to ensure a smooth service Current Food Handlers Certification required, compliant in all handling and preparation of food products according to City and State codes and regulations as mandated by the Department of Health Assist in inventory tracking, prodcuct ordering, and receiving Open and close the ktichen properly and efficeintly, creating more effective systems and checklists as needed Work collboratively with General Manager, Kitchen Manager, and Ownership to develop menu, address quality control, and provide the highest quality of product Follow all company policies, procedures, and guidelines Consistently report to schedulel on time, ready to rock it. REQUIRED SKILLS Knife skills Intermediate to advanced level of culinary skills. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands. Demonstrated ability to show a high level of service responsiveness to customers. Must display a high level of energy and self-motivation. Must have demonstrated ability in organizational, time management, problem solving and interpersonal skills. Must be able to handle details, assume responsibility and maintain confidentiality at all time. WORKING CONDITIONS Must be available to work a flexible scheduled including days, nights and weekends. Regular work requires a great deal of standing, lifting, bending and stretching. Must be able to stand for 8 hours or more during a shift. Must be able to lift and transport up to fifty (50) pounds. Ability to withstand high ambient temperatures while working in close proximity of cooking equipment.
