To provide assistance in the coordination/installation and to monitor the performance of all remote and local on-line computing and building automation equipment. To assist with end-user questions and problems relating to computer hardware and data lines. ESSENTIAL PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES The Network Analyst II shall carry out the essential performance responsibilities listed below. Have the ability to operate equipment and office machines as required to perform assigned tasks and to make minor repairs and adjustments to same; diagnose hardware for reporting to vendors. Compile and maintain forms, summaries, reports, records as necessary to ensure accurate, up-to-date accountability. Assist in the quality control function. Troubleshoot and resolve both digital and analog data transmission lines. Prepare technical reports from information at hand and distribute same upon request. Maintain job streams (job control statements and insertion of data), if applicable to job assignment. Have good understanding of AT&T and Bell Operating companies practices or equivalent. Perform site surveys for new school computer installation. Monitor network reliability and response time. Interact effectively with the general public, staff members, students, teachers, parents, and administrators, using tact and good judgment. Participate, successfully, in the training programs offered to increase the individual's skill and proficiency related to the assignment. Review current developments, literature and technical sources of information related to job responsibility. Ensure adherence to good safety procedures. Perform other tasks as assigned by the administrator/supervisor or designee. Follow federal and state laws, as well as School Board policies. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE Standard high school diploma or satisfactory completion of an approved General Educational Development (GED) Testing Program. A minimum of five (5) years of progressively more responsible work experience in the area of computers and data communications technology. OR Standard high school diploma or satisfactory completion of an approved General Educational Development (GED) Testing Program. Three (3) years of progressively more responsible work experience in the area of computers and data communications technology and a certificate of completion of an accredited course in computer electronics repair. OR Associate's degree from an accredited community or junior college with a minimum of fifteen (15) semester hours of course work in computer science. A minimum of two (2) years of progressively more responsible work experience in the area of computer and data communications technology.
