This is a senior role within a team of experienced engineers dedicated to developing and implementing advanced data protection solutions to safeguard sensitive information across various platforms, including cloud, inline, on-prem, agent, and web. Our team collaborates with multiple departments, including IT, security, and compliance, to develop and deploy cutting-edge data protection solutions. Your contributions will directly impact our ability to protect sensitive information and maintain the trust of our customers. Your way to impact: In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead the development and implementation of data protection solutions that enhance our organization's security posture. You will work on projects that involve deploying detection rules, developing new detections, and configuring Splunk for monitoring, metrics, and logging. Your efforts will help prevent data exfiltration and ensure compliance with security policies. Your day to day: In your day-to-day role, you will: Develop and implement data protection solutions across various platforms, including cloud, inline, on-prem, agent, and web. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify requirements and develop detection rules for data exfiltration attempts. Utilize Splunk for monitoring, metrics, and logging to identify potential threats and escalate incidents as needed. Continuously improve data protection processes and tools to enhance the overall security posture of the organization. What do you need to bring: 6+ years of proven experience in developing and implementing data protection solutions in cloud, inline, on-prem, agent, and web environments. Strong knowledge of data protection tools and technologies such as Splunk, AWS Macie, Zscaler, Demisto, and other DLP technologies. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify false positives and understand how small changes can impact multiple controls. Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and present to leadership effectively. A proactive and innovative mindset, with a focus on continuous improvement and staying up-to-date with the latest security trends. A CISSP certification is highly sought after. Experience in DLP within LLM's and GenAI. PayPal is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices.
