Base pay range $160,000.00/yr - $180,000.00/yr JOB TITLE: Senior Director, Finance DEPARTMENT: Finance LOCATION: New York, NY POSITION OVERVIEW: The Senior Director, Finance is responsible for the general accounting and internal controls of New York City Football Club, City in the Community (CITC) Foundation, and CFG Stadium Company. This person will work closely with the CFO and will be expected to act in that capacity during periods of absence. This role will have accounting oversight of all Club departments as well as acting as a key business partner to the exec team and the wider business. This person will be responsible for maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements. This person will also manage financial reporting and regulatory compliance, along with leading our business planning and forecasting processes. WHAT YOU'LL DO: Ensure accurate & timely month-end general ledger close in compliance with US GAAP & Group standards along with adherence to tight closing calendar Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to general ledger accounts and maintain the company's overall system of accounts, books and records on all company transactions and assets Maintain oversight of compliance with all federal, state, and local corporate, payroll, and other applicable taxes and regulations Maintain oversight of CITC and CFG Stadium Company (our property investment entity) Provide Football Department Business support Liaise with the MLS on all regulatory matters and maintain oversight of MLS activity, including reporting and ad hoc information requests Analyze financial information to recommend or develop efficient use of resources and procedures Provide strategic recommendations and solutions to business and financial problems Maintain oversight of AR Billings and collections Lead the monthly forecast process Lead the annual budgeting and 5 Year plan processes Oversee all balance sheet reconciliations Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities and identify any areas of concern for investigation & resolution Establish and monitor the implementation and maintenance of accounting control procedures Liaise with and manage the Club's relationship with our internal & external auditors Interact effectively with wider finance team and other departments to ensure timely and efficient record keeping Ensure financial accounts are properly supported and reconciled Provide cash flow statements to Group and highlight any future cash concerns Manage the coordination of the annual audit and the gathering of required information Direct the daily activities of team members, monitoring deadlines, and providing hands-on support and coaching Perform other duties as assigned. WHAT YOU'LL BRING: Bachelor's Degree from a university or college; CPA or equivalent essential 10+ years accounting and/or finance experience, preferably in a fast paced, high growth company; 5+ years of managerial experience Thorough knowledge of accounting processes and procedures. Experience in accounting and ability to apply GAAP knowledge to general ledger accounting A high level of organization, initiative and drive. Natural sense of ownership for duties and deadlines as well as drive for continuous improvement Demonstrated interpersonal and team building skills among all organization levels Demonstrated ability to work in an organized manner, prioritizing projects and managing time efficiently and effectively Excellent knowledge of PC systems including MS Office (particularly Microsoft Excel) and ERP/Accounting Software Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to listen effectively, transmit information accurately and understandably, and actively seek feedback Ability to problem solve, be decisive and conduct oneself with poise and professionalism Proven commitment and work ethic to achieve highest standards Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information and records with a high degree of discretion, diligence and good judgment Demonstrated professionalism, discretion, and good judgment in all interactions with co-workers, customers, vendors and others ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Applicant must be able to comply with MLS Next Safety and Well-Being policy and any other applicable child safety policies provided to applicants by NYCFC Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as necessary COMPENSATION: This exempt position has an estimated annual base salary range of $160,000-180,000 and is not overtime eligible. Final compensation offer amounts are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to demonstrated skill set, years and depth of relevant experience, and some role-dependent factors such as certifications and software expertise.
