The position is responsible for quantitative analysis on structured pricing products and developing tools and models for forecast and valuation. This role maintains the existing quantitative models and provides detailed reports on model results timely and accurately. The position is accountable for continuously improving models, analysis, and database across different markets. The candidate must be able to develop and implement advanced modeling methodologies to foster company-wide business decision making. This position also requires establishing close working relationships with other teams across the enterprise. This position may be filled under the following Grade Levels: Data Analytics Analyst (GL4), Senior Data Analytics Analyst (GL5), or Staff Data Analytics Analyst (GL6). Individuals who demonstrate advanced skills in terms of work experience, education, and certifications may be eligible for the more advanced position. Functional Expertise: Analyze and organize key customer data for use in pricing and planning. Manage, improve, and validate existing predictive models, including the running of monthly reports that summarize key forecasting results to be used throughout the organization. Develop new statistical models to support special project analysis as requested. Leverage innovative technologies such as machine learning and AI techniques to foster data analytical capability and support company growth strategy. Business Acumen: Understand the importance of Data Analytics to the profitability of the company. Constantly look for ways to improve the current models in multiple markets to mitigate potential model risks and enhance profitability. Thorough knowledge of quantitative methods, statistical models, and optimization concepts, and the ability to apply them to business situations. Understand how data can be used and how data quality can be improved to discover and mitigate risks inherent in our business. Engagement: Exhibit a high level of personal responsibility for data analysis. Support internal and external auditing on models and analytics tools. Collaborate with other teams to develop modeling tools and analysis reports and communicate project results/status to the appropriate audience. Partner with management in decision-making processes and influence the actions of others to ensure the achievement of business goals. Driving Results: Collect, organize, and process complex data and information from multiple sources, verify its accuracy, and effectively build analytical models based on the data to enhance business profitability. Drive efficiencies through continuous process improvement without implementing undue complexity. May direct the work of other lower-level professionals. Education, Certifications/Licenses: Required: Bachelor's degree in mathematics, economics, engineering, or similar discipline. Preferred: Graduate degree in quantitative discipline. DATA ANALYTICS ANALYST (GL4) Related Work Experience: Required: 3-5 years' experience in data analytics and database management. Preferred: Utility, natural gas, or other energy industry experience. Specific Skills & Knowledge: Required: Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite such as Excel. Knowledge of database management systems such as SQL Server. Proven record of experience working with large databases and use of statistical models for valuation and prediction. Ability to manage multiple projects at once with several departments and stakeholders in a timely fashion with measurable results. SENIOR DATA ANALYTICS ANALYST (GL5) Related Work Experience: Required: 5-9 years' experience in data gathering, analytics, and reporting. Proven track record of model creation and management in a business environment. Extensive experience in manipulating large databases using SQL or Azure. Preferred: Utility, natural gas, or other energy industry experience. Specific Skills & Knowledge: Required: Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite such as Excel. Knowledge of database management systems such as SQL Server. Proven record of experience working with large databases and use of statistical models for valuation and prediction. Ability to manage multiple projects at once with several departments and stakeholders in a timely fashion with measurable results. Experience with data visualization in Power BI or other comparable tools. Demonstrate quantitative skills and ability to apply complex financial and statistical principles. Hands-on programming skills using Python or R. STAFF DATA ANALYTICS ANALYST (GL6) Related Work Experience: Required: 9+ years' experience in data gathering, analytics, and reporting. Proven track record of model creation and management in a business environment. Extensive experience in manipulating large databases using SQL or Azure. Hands-on experience in Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, and/or Big Data. Preferred: Utility, natural gas, or other energy industry experience. Specific Skills & Knowledge: Required: Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite such as Excel. Knowledge of database management systems such as SQL Server. Proven record of experience working with large databases and use of statistical models for valuation and prediction. Ability to manage multiple projects at once with several departments and stakeholders in a timely fashion with measurable results. Experience with data visualization in Power BI or other comparable tools. Demonstrate quantitative skills and ability to apply complex financial and statistical principles. Technical leadership experience and programming skills using Python or R. Working Conditions/Physical Requirement: The incumbent works in an office environment/on-site.
