Volunteers of America-Greater New York (VOA-Greater New York) is an anti-poverty organization working to end homelessness in the New York area by 2050. We operate over 60 programs across New York City, Northern New Jersey and Westchester County including emergency, transitional and permanent housing. Our services extend to families experiencing homelessness, survivors of domestic violence, people living with HIV/AIDS, veterans, youth aging out of foster care, adults with behavioral health or substance use needs, and others in need, including a special education preschool program. Position: Recruitment & Outreach Specialist The Recruitment & Outreach Specialist for the Career Access Program is a community outreach initiative designed to offer vocational rehabilitation services to individuals with disabilities. The Recruitment Specialist will play a pivotal role in the Career Access Program's growth and outreach efforts. This individual will conduct outreach and present the program to various community stakeholders, including community boards, nonprofits, city agencies, and other community-based organizations. The Recruitment Specialist will work to raise awareness about the Career Access Program and recruit potential participants who could benefit from its services. Location: Bronx, NY 10455 Minimum Qualifications: Requires an Associate degree (or 60 college credits), or High School Diploma or equivalent and two years' experience in outreach, social services, or related field providing counseling and placement services. The position also requires a demonstrated ability in verbal and written communication, including basic computer skills. Principal Responsibilities: Conduct outreach efforts to diverse community-based organizations, nonprofits, and city agencies to promote the Career Access Program. Deliver presentations about the Career Access Program to various audiences, including community board meetings, nonprofit conferences, and agency events. Distribute marketing materials (e.g., brochures, flyers, social media posts) to promote the program and its services. Coordinate and participate in community events, career fairs, and information sessions to recruit potential program participants. Build relationships with community partners, advocacy groups, and local service organizations to expand program reach. Identify and engage individuals with disabilities who may benefit from the program's services. Work closely with the Program Manager and team members to ensure a coordinated recruitment, enrollment, and service delivery approach.
