National Cathedral School seeks an Upper School Learning Specialist for its Teaching and Learning Center (TLC) from March 31, 2025 until Friday, June 6, 2025. The salary for this position is based on a 10-month annual rate, ranging from $60,000 to $130,000. In collaboration with an experienced learning specialist, this position supports students to become successful learners and self-advocates, helping students make full use of school-based resources. In addition, the Learning Specialist assists in providing student learning opportunities to improve student success in the classroom. Minimum Qualifications: Qualified candidates hold a master's degree in psychology, education, or special education. Experience in analyzing psycho-educational testing and writing accommodation reports, supporting and developing executive function skills, and working with students of varying levels of ability are necessary. Additionally, qualified candidates will have classroom teaching experience and be knowledgeable about current research relevant to students in grades 4-12, for example, neurodiversity, brain-based learning, and cognitive development. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Reviewing/maintaining student records/files, Analyzing psycho-educational reports and providing recommendations based on these reports, Ensuring appropriate learning accommodations are in place for students in grades 9-12, Completing applications for ACT and SAT accommodations, Leading the Upper School Peer Mentor program, Collaborating with upper school deans, counselor, chaplain, and division head to offer student-centered support, and Consulting with faculty, administrators, and parents. As an advocate for a broad understanding of learning, the Upper School Learning Specialist of the Teaching and Learning Center helps parents, faculty, and students build a positive culture of support around issues of learning in a rigorous curriculum.
