Pump Truck Driver

United Sewer & Septic is excited to hire a Full Time Truck Driver to pump and transport wastewater from septic tanks and sewer lines to designated disposal sites while at the same time ensuring compliance with environmental regulations. This position requires strong mechanical skills to operate the pumping equipment, and excellent customer service to interact with clients at their properties. Key responsibilities:Operating the truck:Safely driving and maneuvering the sewer and septic truck to customer locations, including navigating tight spaces and accessing underground utility lines. Pumping waste:Utilizing the truck's vacuum system to extract wastewater from septic tanks, sewer lines, and other designated areas. Maintaining equipment:Performing routine inspections and maintenance on the truck's pumping system, hoses, and other components to ensure proper functionality. Site preparation:Setting up necessary equipment, including hoses and safety cones, at each service location. Waste disposal:Transporting collected wastewater to an approved disposal facility, following all local regulations. Customer service:Communicating with clients regarding scheduling, service details, and addressing any concerns. Recordkeeping:Maintaining accurate documentation of service calls, including location, volume of waste removed, and any relevant observations. Required skills:Commercial Driver's License (CDL):Valid Class B CDL RequiredMechanical aptitude:Understanding of basic mechanics to troubleshoot and maintain the truck's pumping system. Physical ability:Ability to lift heavy hoses and equipment, work in confined spaces, and tolerate potentially unpleasant working conditions. Safety awareness:Commitment to following safety protocols and regulations related to hazardous waste handling. Customer service skills:Ability to interact professionally with clients and explain service procedures.
