RESPONSIBILITIES to include but not limited to: * Ensure that all employees understand and comply with company safety rules, regulations, and policies. Maintain safe and sanitary working conditions in accordance with company standards, as well as state and federal laws. Ensure employees are aware of their OSHA rights and conduct safety training as needed. Schedule and oversee employee participation in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and training sessions. Promptly investigate accidents and near misses, complete necessary reports, and implement corrective actions to address root causes. * Oversee all operational aspects of assigned areas during the designated shift. Supervise hourly personnel in the same area, ensuring accountability for performance, results, and daily activities. * Ensure consistency in area practices throughout the shift. Enforce departmental standards and drive continuous improvement initiatives. * Coordinate and allocate area resources to provide maximum operational efficiency. * Facilitate lean and process improvement projects. * Coordinate and oversee all training programs for hourly personnel within the area. * Manage area staffing by approving vacation, PTO, and shift modifications for hourly personnel. Maintain and complete daily attendance and absentee reports. * Ensure the area is properly cleaned and maintained, with lean initiatives being followed and documented accordingly. * Assign and guide the workforce to maintain high-quality production while strictly adhering to all process procedures outlined in the Process Control Manual. * Enforce priorities and procedures as determined by the Production Superintendent. * Continuously monitor operations to ensure equipment is functioning properly, employees are adhering to procedures, and work areas remain clean and safe. * Complete daily production and downtime reports. * Enforce all regulations following procedures as written. * Escalate any processes going out of control to the Production Superintendent for further action and resolution. * Maintain clear and effective communication with fellow supervisors to ensure smooth operations and to address any concerns. * Define, in writing, any issues that need to be addressed and communicate them to the appropriate department manager for resolution. * Monitor and ensure the area complies with any environmental laws and regulations related to operations, waste, or emissions. Qualifications (education, experience, skills, personal attributes) * High School Graduate (College Preferred). * Five years' experience in Manufacturing operations. * Must be willing to work extended hours, weekends, or other shifts if required. * Must keep a professional appearance. * Must maintain a good performance and attendance record. * Must be physically and mentally capable of handling exerting and/or stressful situations. * Must be able to conduct and participate in meetings.
