Base pay range $130,000.00/yr - $160,000.00/yr Who We Are Sitting on a quiet tree-lined street in Soho, twelve floors rise above the neighborhood's storied lofts, boutiques, and galleries. The name derives from the particular manner of hospitality, one that feels more like staying at the home of a dear friend than at a hotel "” discreet, refined, generous. Our hotel has 90 rooms and suites with four distinct F&B concepts led by an acclaimed chef. The street-side seafood restaurant and second floor cocktail bar will be venues that are open to the public. The Apartment and The Rooftop are spaces reserved exclusively for guests and friends of guests. While our hotel falls under the Standard International umbrella, it will be positioned as a wholly distinct and separate concept from The Standard with a different market positioning, design aesthetic, and service culture. Purpose of the Role The Director of Human Resources will serve as a strategic business partner and cultural steward ensuring an unparalleled employee experience that mirrors the exceptional services we provide to our guests. This role leads all facets of the human resources function with a focus on talent excellence, operational integrity, and sustaining a work environment where associates thrive. Responsibilities Lead all Human Resources operations with a focus on creating a world-class employee experience, fostering a culture of service, sophistication, and excellence. Serve as a strategic advisor to property leadership, driving organizational effectiveness and aligning talent strategies with business objectives. Curate and oversee innovative talent acquisition strategies to attract top-tier hospitality professionals who embody our brand's values. Champion associate engagement through thoughtfully designed programs that enhance retention, recognition, and career growth. Oversee all aspects of performance management, ensuring consistent feedback, development plans, and leadership pipeline growth. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws while maintaining the highest standards of discretion and professionalism. Deliver elevated training experiences that cultivate skills and service excellence. Serve as the champion of our workplace culture, driving diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging initiatives that reflect our global clientele. Lead workforce planning with precision, ensuring optimal staffing, seamless operations, and a harmonious work environment. Qualifications Minimum of 5 years of progressive Human Resources leadership experience, ideally within the luxury boutique or lifestyle hotel sector, supporting high-volume and multi-department operations. Proven ability to lead with confidence, communicate effectively across all levels of the organization, and make sound decisions while fostering a positive and collaborative workplace. Exceptionally organized, detail-driven, and proactive, with a strong commitment to delivering best-in-class service and employee development. Skilled at managing multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment while upholding the highest standards of professionalism, discretion, and integrity. Flexibility to support a 24/7 operation, including availability on weekends and holidays as business needs require. Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish is strongly preferred, with the ability to effectively engage a diverse workforce. Physical Requirements Ability to move, lift, carry, push, or pull up to 20 pounds without assistance. Requires prolonged standing, sitting, walking, bending, twisting, stooping, and reaching. Must have visual acuity, hearing, and manual dexterity for essential job functions.
