The salary range for this position is $24.00 to $27.00 per hour. Position Overview: As a First Piece Inspector, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our aerospace components meet stringent specifications and industry standards. You will be responsible for inspecting the first production piece of each run to verify it meets quality requirements before mass production begins. This position requires a keen eye for detail and an understanding of aerospace materials, drawings, and specifications. Key Responsibilities: Perform detailed inspections of the first piece produced in a batch, ensuring it meets specifications and quality standards. Review and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and blueprints. Conduct dimensional and visual inspections using calipers, micrometers, and other precision measurement tools. Document inspection results and maintain accurate records of first piece inspections. Communicate with production teams to ensure any deviations or non-conformances are addressed before full-scale production. Collaborate with engineers and quality teams to resolve any quality concerns or issues. Ensure compliance with industry standards, including AS9100, ISO 9001, and other relevant regulations. Identify and document defects, non-conformities, or deviations in parts and report them to the Production Manager for timely resolution. Required Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's degree or certification in a related field is a plus). At least 4 years of experience as a First Piece Inspector, preferably in the aerospace or manufacturing industry. Strong knowledge of aerospace materials, manufacturing processes, and quality standards. Experience with precision measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, height gauges). Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints. Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills. Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment. Familiarity with quality control processes and non-destructive testing methods is a plus. Additional Preferred Qualifications: ASQ Certified Quality Inspector or similar certification. Experience with CAD software (is a plus) and other inspection-related tools. Knowledge of aerospace industry standards and regulatory requirements.
