We have a contract opening for a Lead Infrastructure Engineer with a direct client in the Milwaukee area. C2C candidates are not being considered for this position. Job Start Date: 3/16/25 Job End Date: 3/31/26 Job Description: Responsible for translating high-level solution designs into detailed infrastructure software and hardware design artifacts, ensuring they are maintained and reviewed throughout the project lifecycle. Ensure the detailed design and implementation of the infrastructure meet both functional and non-functional requirements. Oversee the procurement, installation, and configuration of appropriate infrastructure components for all environments (development, test, stage, and production). Ensure project alignment with industry best practices in design and delivery while providing leadership for infrastructure implementation. Minimum of 3 years of experience required (5-7 years recommended). Key Responsibilities: Identify business requirements, analyze alternatives, and recommend software, platform, network configurations, and relevant integrations in alignment with the industry-standard TOGAF architecture framework. Conduct analysis and value stream mapping of ITIL processes such as event management, incident/change management, and server patching. Design automation and orchestration solutions using tools such as Ansible, GitLab CI, and ServiceNow Orchestrator. Evaluate data analytics techniques and tools to introduce AIOps capabilities for proactive incident management using tools like Elastic Stack, Splunk, and Dynatrace. Design centralized visualization solutions using tools like Grafana/Kibana or technologies such as Java, Node.js, or Python to consolidate health results from multiple monitoring tools (e.g., New Relic, Dynatrace, Elasticsearch) into an executive enterprise health dashboard. Conduct proof-of-concept evaluations for new tools, products, or capabilities (e.g., PagerDuty, Moogsoft, Big Panda, ServiceNow ITOM, ELK Machine Learning) to improve enterprise resiliency and user experience. Assess current and emerging open-source technologies (e.g., Docker, Node.js, Ansible, GitLab CI, Jenkins) alongside enterprise tools to determine cost-effectiveness, portability, compatibility, and usability. Design CI/CD pipelines for automating the entire release, testing, and deployment lifecycle of monitoring, management, and automation solutions, leveraging tools such as GitLab for source control, GitLab CI for integration pipelines, and Ansible or GitLab CI runners for deployment. Architect enterprise monitoring, management, automation, and analytics tool solutions while guiding solution development throughout the full implementation lifecycle. Develop a roadmap for transforming the enterprise monitoring landscape to achieve enhanced maturity levels.
