Company: Qualcomm Incorporated Job Area: Legal Group, Legal Group > Contracts Administration/Management General Summary: Drafts, negotiates, administers, and manages contracts, including outlining clear terms that are aligned with business objectives and stakeholder needs. Actively involved throughout the contract lifecycle from planning requirements to fulfillment of obligations, addressing issues and risks as needed. Applies and maintains current understanding of Qualcomm policies, positions, and operations as well as legal guidelines related to contracts administration and/or management. Minimum Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in Communication, Business, Political Science, or related field. * 8+ years of Contract Administration experience or related work experience. Preferred Qualifications: * Master's degree in Communication, Business, Political Science, or related field. * Juris Doctorate degree or international equivalent. * Certification in legal, contracts, or related areas. * 10+ years of Contract Administration experience. * 3+ years of work experience in a role requiring interaction with executive leadership (e.g., Sr. Director level and above). * 3+ years in a leadership role with or without direct reports (only applies to positions with direct reports). Principal Duties and Responsibilities: * Directs multiple teams to draft, administer, and manage a wide variety of complex contracts and amendments based on expertise in contract administration procedures, structure, and guidelines; coaches others on negotiation strategies. * Guides team to manage highly complex or critical contracts to ensure fulfillment of contractual obligations by all parties. * Reviews research, analysis, and interpretation of contracts across teams to evaluate and leverage insights that best support the business based on advanced knowledge of contract and legal principles. * Guides team to clearly communicate Qualcomm's policies and positions related to contracts with critical internal and external parties based on expertise in area. * Provides direction to teams for analyzing and responding to complex requests for information; reviews responses to ensure timeliness and quality of responses. * Drives conversations with critical internal and external stakeholders to understand and clarify ambiguous needs, share updates, and address complex issues and risks. * Encourages continuous improvement across teams by developing new and innovative ways to increase efficiencies across the functional area; implements, promotes, and influences the adoption of new and improved processes. * Analyzes complex contract needs and requirements for multiple teams to determine time and resources required. * Reviews assigned projects and determines the level of analyses and associated work that needs to be conducted in order to address deadlines and assigns projects throughout the team accordingly. * Leads sound, ethical, and timely decision making within team; guides and holds others accountable for making effective decisions. Level of Responsibility: * Works independently with little supervision. * Provides supervision to direct reports. * Decisions are more significant in their impact, influencing overall program or project success, finances, and/or the ability to meet objectives. Errors are not readily apparent due to the complexity of work process/product or time between decisions and results. Errors typically result in significant expenditure of time, resources, and funds to correct. * Requires verbal and written communication skills to convey complex and/or detailed information to multiple individuals/audiences with differing knowledge levels. Role may require strong negotiation and influence, communication to large groups or high-level constituents. * Most tasks do not have defined steps; simultaneous use of multiple mental abilities is generally required to determine the best approach; mistakes may result in significant rework. * Works on abstract problems in variable situations that typically require complex analysis, interpretation, or evaluation of intangible factors. Directs the resolution of complex problems that have impact beyond own area. Participates in corporate development of methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for projects, programs, and people. * Develops and administers budgets, schedules, and performance standards for functional area within the prescribed budgetary objectives of the department. Erroneous decisions, failure to achieve goals results in additional costs and personnel and serious delays in schedule and may impact short term goals of functional area. * Has a great degree of influence over key organizational decisions (e.g., is making or directly making key decisions that will have substantial impact over the organization). * Regularly determines what needs to be done and is involved with sharing innovative solutions to achieve broad policies and objectives. * Develops, redesigns organizational strategies, and provides overall direction for various functional areas and/or entire organization. Pay range and Other Compensation & Benefits: $150,200.00 - $225,400.00 The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted.
