Job Summary: Responsible for the direction of the department workforce to maximize product quality, production yields, productivity and the maintenance of a safe workplace in accordance with state and federal regulations, and company policies and procedures. Job Responsibilities: * Adheres to all company safety and quality standards and procedures identified in the areas covering GMP's, FDA, OSHA. * Critically monitors and reviews daily line performance and make improvements or adjustments to assure schedules are being met and quality standards are maintained. * Mentors and motivates colleagues providing training and development to optimize their performance and personal growth. * Participates in weekly production meetings and plant inspections. Investigates and issues corrective actions for any process or quality deviation. Issues work orders to correct any identified deficiencies as needed. * Enforces compliance to company rules, policies and procedures to ensure a safe and fair working environment for plant workers and visitors. * Administers disciplinary action with approval from Human Resources to employees who have violated company rules, procedures, and policies or have poor performance. * Maintains time clock management system for department insuring appropriate allowed weekly hours, timely approvals, accurate and updated schedules and overseeing and entering employee time off. * Conducts staff meetings with colleagues covering safety issues and production performance against set goals as required. * Ensures all daily manufacturing documents are completed and are accurate. * Maintains staffing to meet line standard staffing levels. * Maintain skill level with company growth. * Promotes teamwork and fosters an atmosphere conducive to the effective use of teamwork to achieve objectives. * Ensures compliance of all Local, State & Federal regulations * Executes other duties as assigned by Operations Manager or Senior Management. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: * High school diploma or equivalent. * 2-5 years industry experience supervising a manufacturing/ packaging line. * Proficient in Microsoft Office, Word and Excel. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills. * Strong leadership, management and interpersonal skills. * Strong organizational skills with an ability to organize and follow through on jobs and assigned projects. * Ability to multi-task and set priorities within department. * Ability to mentor and train others. * Evidence of solid analytical skills and ability to look at a problem and determine workable solutions to resolve the issue. * Knowledge of GMP's, Quality Control, FDA and OSHA requirements Working Conditions: * Position may require continuous standing, lifting, bending and moving of heavy weight (over 50 pounds) material in difficult work positions. * Must be able to travel as needed and adhere to corporate travel policies.
