Job Title: Account Specialist Department: Technical Product Marketing Function: Sales Account Support Job Overview: The Account Specialist (AS) is responsible for customer account set-up, management, and post-sales service and support. Located in Unigen Headquarters, Newark CA. Reports to Vice President, Business Development and Product. Primary Job Responsibilities: 1. Manage customer accounts and communication. * Interface with an external customer (or outside sales rep and distributors) to gather customer information to enable customer account set-up * Create, set up and maintain customer accounts in Unigen internal system/s by collecting and providing required information to internal groups and ensuring the information is accurate and up to date * Serve as a primary point of contact between Unigen and OEM customers, providing clear, effective, and timely communication in both directions * Manage and maintain account records and documents, respond to inside and outside account inquiries; review, evaluate and report account activities * Manage and communicate customer forecast and reconcile forecast against orders * Measure and report on customer satisfaction * Research, determine and communicate customer needs and competitive solutions * Understand customer requirements (based on sales agreement or customer requirement doc.) to carry out business model mapping, such as information related to shipping methods, ship-to address, any third-party procurement (like CM and its portals, if any) * Notify customers of related PCN 2. Facilitate and coordinate Unigen internal activities to satisfy customer requirements and requests. * Communicate to external parties (customer or sales rep) on information (PO, accounting, T&C, warranty) discrepancies * Manage sample order and delivery to customer * Communicate to sales to track sample qualifying status * Facilitate completion of compliance requests from customers * Interface with product marketing to respond to incoming RFO from customer or/and external sales representative * Drive customer quality issue resolution with Engineering and Production by escalating issues and providing relevant data and direction as needed * Maintain, update, and escalate finished goods requests; provide direction to Planning for backlog priority of component allocations * Communicate with outside sales representatives and distributors to provide and facilitate customer support * Send approved quote to related customer * Maintain and update quote pricing for PN by customer to enable incoming PO verification * Verify accuracy of PO from customer related to pricing and PN on AVL * Work with internal team to update customer on RMA or order status * Download customer forecast for supply chain (buyer and planner) to manage material planning * Interface with AR on customer payment status and work with customers for late payments * Interface with internal parties to resolve customer issues * Interface with internal compliance group for product compliance status to meet customer requirement * Interface with internal Quality engineering to support customer audits * Follow up on SO closure or delivery * Communicate any potential new opportunities received from customers to the internal Business Development group to follow up and win business Other tasks and responsibilities assigned to Accounts Specialist position Key Qualifications and Requirements: * Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Psychology, Business Administration or a related field * Minimum 2 years of work experience managing customer accounts * Minimum 1 year of work in customer service or support roles * Proficiency Microsoft applications - Excel, Word, and PowerPoint * Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills * Experience working in an OEM environment is preferred * Familiarity with CRM and collaboration tools is a plus
