We are looking for outstanding individuals to join the culinary team as a Sous Chef. You will make a difference in the lives of residents by assisting the Chef to oversee culinary operations. This includes support in menu planning, food preparation, safety and sanitation. The culinary team enhances Legend's Gold Leaf Dining experience, which sets a high standard for atmosphere and food quality. Legend provides for your financial, physical and mental well-being through the following benefits: Standard and supplementary insurance Retirement program Paid time off Holiday pay Annual performance appraisals/evaluations Continuing education Legend of Honor bonus Resident move-in bonus Celebration/sympathy gifts Scholarship program PTO donation program Crisis care program Employee Assistance Program Requirements REQUIREMENTS: One year experience in a commercial kitchen as a line cook High school diploma or GED Current food handling licenses as required by the state PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Senior Living experience strongly preferred Prefer culinary training Prefer prior experience as a sous chef RESPONSIBILITIES: Assisting the Chef in menu planning, food preparation, inventory, documentation and scheduling Preparing food in accordance with the planned menu, noting changes when applicable Ensuring all cooking, serving, storage, preparation, and service areas are clean , safe and organized to meet all applicable food service standards and regulations Monitoring quality food service in accordance with Legend's Gold Leaf Dining standards Leading the kitchen environment in the absence of the Chef Communicating effectively with residents and staff Adhering to company policies , procedures and safety guidelines
