Base pay range $140,000.00/yr - $200,000.00/yr About Poise Property Group Poise Property Group is a dynamic real estate development firm based in New York City, specializing in condominium development, construction, and rental property management. We are seeking a Vice President of Finance to oversee financial operations across our development, construction, and rental businesses. This is a full-time, in-person role based out of our Williamsburg/Greenpoint office, with some flexibility to work from home on select days. Position Overview The VP of Finance will report to the CEO and be responsible for financial strategy, accounting oversight, banking relationships, investor management, and compliance . This individual will play a critical role in managing financial reporting, capital structuring, tax planning, and process optimization to support Poise's continued growth. Key Responsibilities Development Finance & Loan Management Oversee development project bookkeeping , ensuring accurate tracking of expenses. Manage intra-group transactions and intercompany accounting. Prepare and manage bank requisitions for project funding. Oversee cost segregation analysis for tax optimization. Track and manage Poise's development loans , ensuring compliance with lender requirements. Supervise tenant payment collections and ensure accurate tracking of rental income. Approve and process vendor payments across the portfolio. Monitor and manage depreciation schedules for real estate assets. Prepare and organize documents for construction loans and financing. Coordinate and support permanent financing applications and loan closings. Manage all deliverables to investors, banks and key stakeholders. Ensure payment of loans and compliance. Investor Relations & Reporting Oversee capital deposits, distributions , equity schedules and income allocations for investors. Ensure timely and accurate investor payouts and update AppFolio for reporting. Tax & Compliance Ensure property taxes are paid on time and remain compliant with all regulations. Serve as the key liaison with CPA firms to facilitate annual tax filings . Manage K-1 distributions and investor tax reporting. Manage any deliverables for compliance and regulatory requirements. Ensure timely, relevant, accurate and complete financial reporting monthly. Cash management, accounts receivable/payable, bank reconciliations. Establish and optimize QuickBooks Online (QBO) structure and accounts . Evaluate and recommend whether QBO is the best platform for Poise's financial needs. Supervise and manage an in-house or outsourced bookkeeping team. Ensure accounting controls, processes and procedures are optimized and documented. Enhance reporting and metrics to provide better visibility for Management. Develop a consolidated view of financial projections to understand capital requirements. Strategic Financial Planning Manage 1031 exchanges , including planning, compliance, and execution. Work with Opportunity Zone experts to develop financial strategies and meet reporting requirements. Construction Finance Oversight Ensure financial coordination and reporting for active construction projects. Support budgeting, cost control, and financial planning for ongoing developments. Qualifications & Requirements 10+ years of experience in real estate finance, accounting, or related fields, with 3+ years of full accounting responsibility. Strong understanding of real estate development, construction, and property management accounting and financial statements. Proficiency in QuickBooks Online, AppFolio, and real estate accounting software . Experience with banking relationships, loan documentation, and capital structuring . Knowledge of tax planning, K-1 filings, and 1031 exchanges . CPA or CFA designation is a plus but not required. Strong organizational, leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
