The pay range is $131,000.00 - $236,000.00 Pay is based on several factors which vary based on position. In Corporate Affairs, you'll have the opportunity to play a critical role in enhancing and protecting Target's brand and enabling growth across the business. With the broad range of complementary capabilities in Communications, Enterprise Sustainability, Risk, Reputation Management, Government Affairs, and Community Impact, this team helps Target manage the needs and expectations of our team, guests, media, communities, elected officials, and other stakeholders. As a team, we help the company prepare for, respond to and manage risks across the company. We act as internal advisors to business leaders and teams navigating a spectrum of risks. As Director, Issues & Campaign Management, you will focus on the issues and opportunities that have the potential to impact Target's business, team, guests and stakeholders and develop and deploy campaigns to mitigate risk and promote business goals. You will be an integral leader in the Reputation & Risk (R&R) program, which is the company's central structure for preparing for potential reputation risks and responding to materialized risk events and will work with internal business partners from Corporate Affairs and across the enterprise. We are looking for an experienced issues manager and leader who can translate the complex and evolving external environment and identify risks and opportunities for Target. Candidates should have experience developing and implementing programs and operating cross-functionally through strong relationships. The role requires strong communication skills, both oral and written, and an aptitude for facilitation and project management. An ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to see the big picture and set strategy, while also adapting to the daily needs of the business and prioritizing tasks, often under pressure or time constraints. The Reputation & Risk team is a small, tight organization and we are looking for a resilient, flexible leader who demonstrates a commitment to collaboration, courageousness and curiosity, and importantly, has fun while doing it. Job Overview: Dynamic and strategic leader to develop and deploy an issues management campaign program. This leader will focus on the issues and opportunities that have the potential to impact Target's business, team, guests and stakeholders and develop and deploy campaigns to mitigate risk and promote business goals. Develop and lead an enterprise-wide program for issues-based campaigns, which includes those driven by internal and external factors. Create a programmatic approach to using data and insights to identify issue and activism trends and better prepare for risk developments. Lead complex project development and execution across the company in order to protect Target's reputation and help support business goals. Convene and lead cross-functional working groups to address complex issues, manage internal partners, coordinate execution of actions and facilitate alignment across teams. Develop and maintain relationships across business functions and with key partners and subject matter experts, leveraging diverse perspectives, sources, and expertise to identify, explore and respond to developing risks in a proactive and agile manner. Support and influence business decisions and provide risk-based planning and decision support to business functions and senior leaders. Represent the Risk & Reputation team on a variety of internal working groups, providing sound strategic counsel and valuable insights and analysis. Additional job duties include ongoing monitoring, tracking and reporting on a portfolio of topics, including the ability to summarize and communicate about trends and potential impacts to a variety of internal audiences. Create and maintain a positive team culture by demonstrating behaviors consistent with organizational values of Inclusivity, Connection and Drive. About you: Four-year degree, or equivalent experience. 8-10 years of directly related experience in issues management, crisis management, communications, reputation management, public policy. Excellent written, oral and facilitation communication skills; experience conducting research; ability to distill complex topics into clear and concise analysis or recommendations. Ability to work in team situations and to contribute to cross-functional activities. Highly organized and efficient, able to work in a fast-paced, highly sensitive area and manage multiple tasks at the same time; strong sense of urgency and priority. Bias for action and strong ability to execute with minimal oversight: coordinate, prioritize, put forth recommendations, establish goals, ensure timelines are met and resources are being used wisely. Ability to innovate and engage in continuous improvement of our program and processes. Demonstrated curiosity, creative problem solving and leadership skills. This position will operate as a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement based on Target's needs. A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member's core role will need to be performed both onsite at the Target HQ MN location the role is assigned to and virtually, depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day.
