The American Association of People with Disabilities (AAPD) works to increase the political and economic power of people with disabilities. REV UP stands for "Register, Educate, Vote, Use your Power" and is AAPD's national nonpartisan campaign working to build the power of the disability vote and improve election accessibility. The network consists of grassroots state voting coalitions in around 20 states and partners in over 30 states. The Coordinator will serve as the key point of contact for our on-the-ground organizers and work to build connections, provide logistical and strategic support, and enhance communication across state coalitions to strengthen disability voter engagement and advocacy efforts. The coordinator reports to the Director of Accessible Democracy. Job Type: Full-Time Reports To: Director of Accessible Democracy Location: Remote or hybrid (office in Washington D.C.); travel to state events required several times per year Core Responsibilities Support the REV UP Network Meet regularly with state coalitions and maintain records on coalition plans, activities, member roles and demographics Collect and maintain data relevant to program evaluation Support the REV UP network by facilitating connections, providing feedback, and collaborating with the Director of Accessible Democracy and partner organizations to provide leadership and issue-area training. Manage Coalition Communications Maintain the network contact list, including state coalition members and partner organizations Manage tool application (Slack, email, Mobilize) and user support to build cross-coalition, and national-state communication Provide input to AAPD's Communications Department on the content of coalition emails, social media, and communication strategies Programmatic Support Assist in setting agendas for national and regional calls, ensuring network participation, and co-facilitating discussions. Coordinate state and local engagement for Disability Voting Rights Week, providing technical support and managing logistics. Support the logistics, planning, and facilitation of a minimum of two localized REV UP actions per year in collaboration with local partners in order to strengthen existing relationships, build new relationships, and maintain a deep understanding of on-the-ground work (i.e. building disability engagement in the Selma Jubilee). Attend at least one national event or conference per year to table for REV UP and AAPD with the goal of building the presence of the disability community and building new partners, attracting new members. Requirements 1-2 years of cumulative relevant experience (paid or unpaid), working in civic engagement, community organizing, or issue advocacy Experience with voter registration, election accessibility advocacy Proven track record of building deep and genuine connections within various communities Strong organizational skills in order to maintain records and track projects Strong communication skills across multiple audiences and mediums Creative thinking and innovative approaches to determining how to better engage with various partners and community members Strong strategic thinking and planning skills Problem-solving skills and capacity to adapt to unexpected challenges and conflicts Capacity to manage multiple projects at once Ability to work independently and collaboratively; engage in collaborative brainstorming, facilitate collaborative decision making Experience using digital organizing tools or the willingness and capacity to learn digital tools such as, Google Drive and Google platforms, Slack, EveryAction, Mobilize Monday.com, Hubspot Required: Willing to travel several times per year (averaging 2-3 times per year, trip dates do not typically exceed 5 days) The application deadline is March 31, 2025.
