Position Overview CRH Americas Materials Group/CRH is seeking a customer-oriented individual with strong leadership and problem-solving abilities to join our team as a Field Services Manager. In this role, you will oversee the field services function, ensuring high operational performance and exceptional customer service. You will actively engage with CRH business leaders to understand their technology needs, aiming to continuously improve customer satisfaction and user experience. Additionally, you will collaborate with other IT teams on computer operations, technical support, systems analysis, and PC technology. This position involves direct reports and requires technical expertise with current "hands-on" system support experience. Key responsibilities include defining roles, hiring team members, organizational planning, and enhancing user experience. You will be part of the Service Operations management team and report to the Director of Field Services. Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions) To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. * Oversees daily operations of a team of Field Services Technicians (FST). * Takes ownership of events and issues within team's responsible support area. * Ensures efficient task completion. * Delivers high-quality customer service. * Manages local hardware inventory. * Responsible for FST training and performance. * Partners with the Business Relationship Managers (BRM) team to understand business expectations. * Ensure company technical standard are followed. * Builds strong, trust-based relationships with local business leaders. * Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Sufficient education, training and/or work experience to demonstrate possession of the following knowledge, skills, and abilities. Education/Experience * Bachelor's degree in computer science or information technology from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience. * At least 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in IT technical support, with 3 years at a supervisory level preferred. * Strong knowledge of networks, switches, servers, PCs, notebooks, peripheral equipment, and telecommunications. * Relevant experience in a large, multifaceted organization with cross-functional teams. * Project management experience preferred. * ITIL certification preferred. Knowledge/Skill Requirements * Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. * Expertise in desktop, network, and application configuration and troubleshooting. * Knowledge of ITIL framework and Incident Management. * Ability to identify customer needs and resolve problems. * Effective team development, mentoring, and management of distributed staff. * Clear, concise communication in various contexts. * Management of travel and expenses. * Collaboration with diverse individuals. * Strong commitment to customer service. Work and Physical Requirements The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. * Sitting for extended periods of time. * Ability to safely lift 10 pounds on a regular basis and up to 50 pounds on occasion. * Ability to travel (overnight) as required based on business needs up to 50%. * Ability to drive up to 4 hours for onsite services and meetings. * Must pass background check, alcohol and drug testing. * The position may require work outside of normal business hours in response to critical incidents or business-impacting project deliverables. Work Environment * Normal office working conditions in addition to industrial plant sites and quarries, requiring the usage of personal protective equipment, e.g. hard hat, steel-toed boots, and safety glasses.
