Employees must work well as a team, maintain confidentiality, and adhere to company policies. SUMMARY: To provide drinks to guests in a quick, efficient, friendly, and courteous manner. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Set up and break down the bar area. Ensure you have a bottle opener, wine opener, pens, check presenters, rubber bands, paper clips, stapler and staples, and POS paper. Prepare all garnishes needed for the preparation of drinks. Clean all bottles and rails, wipe down check presenters, menus, computers, and bar area. Clean and polish the bar, counters, shelves, equipment, bar stools, etc. Maintain and stock adequate supplies of bar items such as glasses, cups, napkins, drink supplies, rollups, share plates, condiments, etc. Stock refrigerating units with wines, beer, etc. Replenish ice at the bar. Perform accurate cash handling and POS procedures. Count the bank before and after the shift. Prepare and serve drinks according to recipes for guests and servers. Suggest wines by the glass and bottle options that support our sharing concept. Ensure standardization and consistent beverage preparation, presentation, and quality. Responsible for "upselling" on any given opportunity. Retain and maintain complete knowledge of all food and beverage menu items. Use the food menu as another selling tool. Recommend/pair a dish the guest might have with the drink. Check identification for proof of age when required. Build rapport with guests while serving them. Monitor guests' drinks and anticipate guests' needs. Keep the bar counter, shelves, rails, stools, and all surfaces around the bar clean at all times. Ensure proper payment from departing guests. Prepare the bar for the next shift. Perform accurate cash/credit handling and POS procedures in accordance with Company policies and procedures. Ensure the order and cleanliness of the bar is in accordance with health and safety regulations. Must be knowledgeable about the Hotel, Restaurant/Lounge, and surroundings, i.e., nearby entertainment, stores, hotels, etc. Must be able to work a flexible schedule and late hours when necessary. Must have the ability to arrive on time and regularly. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES required: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent cash handling and POS skills. Customer service oriented with an outgoing, upbeat, and positive personality. Professionally groomed appearance. Ability to work in a team and independently. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and meet multiple deadlines. Ability to work successfully in a fast-paced environment. Ability to maintain composure in a potentially stressful environment. Ability to successfully interact with all levels of employees and management. Food and Beverage product knowledge and experience. Must meet state-required age to serve alcohol. Knowledge and familiarity with state liquor liability laws. BASSET and Food Handlers certified. Ability to attend all required company meetings. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
