Your role at Sephora: As the Engineering Manager of Marketplace & Partnerships you will be responsible for grooming and mentoring your team as well as being accountable for architecting, designing, coding, developing, upgrading, and supporting applications. A combination of the above will enhance the overall omni-channel experience of our end users and systems that consume our services (Marketplaces and Partnerships). Reporting to the Director of Engineering, you will work closely with extremely talented peers, engineers from cross-functional teams, leads, and architects to understand and brainstorm omni-channel solutions and design patterns required to solve specific problems at hand. Responsibilities: Technical/Data/Business architecture, design, development, and delivery of complex features and enhancement of omni-channel Marketplace and Partnership APIs. Contribute to the overall system design, architecture, security, scalability, reliability, and performance of the Partnerships and Marketplace APIs. Serve as a subject matter expert and onsite liaison on the projects involved. Able to quickly understand the business domain for dotcom and retail channels. Develop secure and high-quality production code, and actively participate in code review and test solutions to ensure they meet best practice specifications. Work across the entire tech stack from enterprise application services to database. Participate in sprint releases with close to zero tolerance on delivery slippages. Manage, mentor, guide, and groom a team of engineers/leads. Model a culture that values a growth mindset, integrity, accountability, and respect, coaching the team to become independent leaders. Manage a team of engineers to deliver and maintain Sephora's systems, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and scalability. Provide coaching, guidance, and evaluate performance. Strategically plan and prioritize the backlog, allocate/assign tasks to team members, track project execution, and mitigate any observed risks. Drive conversations with the offshore team and assign tasks, reviewing the completeness of those tasks. Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture that values diversity and promotes a sense of belonging and respect. Collaborate and influence as appropriate with cross-functional teams in the interest of project progress. Architects, DevOps, Network team, Project Managers, Product managers, Quality Assurance, Performance Engineering, Technical leads. Ensure related incident tickets are handled appropriately within the SLAs. Proactively monitor, identify, isolate, and resolve problems to avoid impact on the business. Communicate progress, risks, and outcomes to senior management and other relevant stakeholders. We're excited about you if you have: 8+ years hands-on experience in planning, designing, developing, and delivering enterprise solutions with excellent debug and troubleshooting skills. 8+ years' strong experience with Java/J2EE, Spring, Spring Boot frameworks, and other web-related technologies. 8+ years' first-hand experience in designing, deploying, and managing RESTful APIs using JSON message structures and GraphQL-based integration. 2+ years' experience leading and managing other engineers. Hands-on experience with designing cloud-based applications using microservices architecture and best practices, preferably on MS Azure cloud platform. Highly preferred if you have experience with decomposing monolith applications into microservices. Hands-on experience with full-stack development, Istio service mesh, Feign client for third-party calls, service discovery, monitoring, and logging. Experience in implementing monitoring and alerts dashboards using Splunk, Nagios, and App Dynamics (or similar technologies). Experience with queuing and streaming solutions such as Kafka, Coherence, etc. Experience with MySQL, MS SQL, and any other NoSQL databases. Working experience with GitHub, Jenkins, Jmeter, Argocd, Artifactory, and other DevOps-related tools & applications. Experience working in the retail industry with a large-scale enterprise organization, e-commerce, marketing, and self-serviceable applications will be a plus. The annual base salary range for this position is $156,150.00 - $192,900.00. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include the applicant's qualifications for the position; years of relevant experience; specific and unique skills; level of education attained; certifications or other professional licenses held; other legitimate, non-discriminatory business factors specific to the position; and the geographic location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will perform the job. Individuals employed in this position may also be eligible to earn bonuses.
