POSITION IS FOR FOOD SERVICE PANTRY WORKER. LOCATION IS NYC MID TOWN CORPORATE OFFICE. A food service pantry worker is responsible for preparing, stocking, and maintaining food items and supplies in the pantry area of a food service establishment. They ensure that all food items are properly stored, rotated, and ready for use by kitchen staff to maintain efficient culinary operations. Responsibilities: Food Preparation: Prepare basic food items such as salads, sandwiches, appetizers, and desserts as per standard recipes and under the direction of the chef or kitchen supervisor. Stocking and Organization: Receive, inspect, and properly store food deliveries to maintain freshness and quality. Organize pantry inventory and rotate stock to ensure freshness and minimize waste. Cleanliness and Sanitation: Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the pantry area, including storage areas, refrigerators, and workstations. Follow proper food handling and safety guidelines to prevent foodborne illnesses.. Inventory Management: Keep track of inventory levels and communicate shortages or excesses to the kitchen manager or supervisor. Customer Service: Occasionally interact with customers or servers to fulfill orders or provide information about menu items, especially in settings like fruit and crudite bars Adherence to Regulations: Adhere to all health and safety regulations and guidelines set by local health departments, ensuring compliance with food hygiene standards and practices.
