Job Description A leading global investment bank in NYC is seeking a Java Developer for a long-term contract position. The ideal candidate should have 5-10 years within financial services technology. In this role you will: Work in an agile team to design, develop, and support a new sales credit payout system for Fixed Income sales, traders, and management. The new system will replace an existing system. The Java based backend, MS SQL Server DB, HTML5/Javascript UI, RESTful APIs, and AMPS messaging platform will consume trade and static data from multiple systems across Fixed Income. This new sales payout system will use various rules to calculate the net sales credit/payout, persist the data, allow users to adjust/input data, and display the data in custom web-based UI or BI tool like Qlik Sense. The framework/API developed for sales payout should be extendable to other reporting solutions. Long term plan is to replace a legacy C# client/server in-house built reporting system (Latis) with this new framework. The core technology required is: Core Java, SpringBoot/SpringCloud, SQL, AMPS or other messaging (TIBCO) HTML5/Javascript (Node.js)/React/Web sockets Education: BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering or related Required Background: Able to communicate effectively with the FI Management and sales/traders Strong design, coding, testing and debugging skills Strong multithreaded programming experience is a must Ability to understand complex relational data models Strong skills in OOP, n-tier/SOA architecture, middleware implementation. Strong skills in using Excel and SQL for data analysis and reconciliation Knowledge of transaction sub-ledgers and financial accounting Knowledge of trading workflows, security types, and related calculation engines Knowledge of Fixed Income trade flow and processing Familiarity with Bloomberg TOMS and other Fixed Income trade order management systems.
