Sr Network Engineer

Role: Senior Network Engineer Location: Remote Rate: $60-63/hour Duration: Ongoing contract Work Requirements: US Citizen, GC Holders or Authorized to Work in the U.S. Job Details: A Senior Network Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing complex network infrastructure across the company, including advanced troubleshooting, security protocols, and capacity planning, often leading technical projects and mentoring junior engineers while ensuring network stability and performance aligns with business needs. Key responsibilities may include: Network Architecture Design: Developing and maintaining the overall network architecture, including data center, WAN, LAN, and security zones, considering scalability and future requirements. Implementation and Configuration: Installing, configuring, and upgrading network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls) and software, ensuring optimal performance and compliance with standards. Troubleshooting and Support: Diagnosing and resolving complex network issues, providing technical support to other teams, and escalating critical incidents when necessary. Security Management: Implementing and maintaining network security measures like access controls, firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and vulnerability management. Capacity Planning: Monitoring network usage, identifying potential bottlenecks, and proactively planning for future capacity needs. Project Leadership: Leading technical projects related to network upgrades, expansions, or new technology implementations, including budget management and timeline adherence. Documentation and Reporting: Maintaining detailed network documentation, creating reports on network performance and compliance. Network Engineering & Architecture: Design and execute zero-impact network migrations . Lead the deployment and management of critical network components, including LAN/WAN, wireless controllers, DNS, DHCP, and Network Access Control (NAC) . Configure and maintain network devices such as routers, switches, load balancers, WAN optimizers, and proxies across multiple regions (EMEA, LATAM, APAC). Optimize network performance by implementing redundancy, failover mechanisms, and traffic shaping techniques . Manage F5, Citrix ADC, and Riverbed solutions for application delivery and network optimization. Cloud & Data Center Operations: Utilize AWS Terraform to automate network and security configurations. Lead AWS cloud migrations with minimal impact, ensuring seamless transitions between data centers. Design and configure new data centers from the ground up. Security & Compliance: Perform penetration testing (Black-box & White-box) to identify vulnerabilities in network and mobile applications. Deploy and maintain security platforms, including firewalls (Checkpoint, Palo Alto, McAfee NGFW), IDS/IPS (Juniper IDP), and endpoint protection solutions (McAfee HIPS, DLP) . Implement Bluecoat security solutions and create technical documentation for future endpoint security projects. Standardization & Cost Optimization: Initiate network standardization efforts , leading to cost reductions and improved network architecture efficiency. Ensure compliance with industry best practices for security, performance, and scalability.
