Chief Financial Officer Our Business Office is an integral part of BCD's preschool - 8th grade school community. We firmly believe that a strong business environment is among our greatest assets to help ensure that our school has the resources to support our students' intellectual, social, and emotional development. The CFO will be responsible for the day-to-day operations and financial management of BCD's business office. This position requires a hands-on and collaborative manager with proven experience in strategic non-profit accounting. The Business Office works in partnership with the school's leadership team and other members of the faculty and staff providing support for financial decision making. Responsibilities Oversees and manages the overall function of the Business Office, including: Implementing internal controls, Managing resource allocation and procurement, Managing debt covenants and investments, Managing Tax Filings, Contract review and management of contracts Provides supervision and support to the Accounting Manager, IT team, Facilities team, and oversight of the dining services contract. Ensures these functions are efficient in supporting the needs of BCD's faculty and staff. Manages the annual audit process Maintains the tuition management system and related tuition revenue recognition policies and A/R Collaborates with Development team to reconcile capital campaign gifts, general donations and ensure compliance with GAAP Oversees annual budget preparation; monitors and communicates progress and changes against the budget and forecasting results Oversees risk management activities, including primary point of contact for property liability policies Serves as point person for oversight of campus safety and security program Oversees processes that overlap with HR such as payroll and benefits Assumes responsibility of schoolwide strategic leadership of finances Presents and Reports to the Board of Trustees/Finance Board/Development Committee Represents school at national and state levels Establishes Policies and Procedures for areas of responsibility Other duties as assigned by Head of School Required Qualifications & Skills Bachelor's degree in accounting A minimum of seven years of accounting experience Nonprofit accounting experience High professional and ethical standards for handling confidential data Experience with QuickBooks Experience managing others and working across departments Strategic thinker with the ability to execute strategy by managing multiple business operations processes Effective communication and collaboration skills Team player; open minded, flexible, and reflective Strong commitment to cultivating a diverse, equitable, and inclusive school community Preferred Qualifications QuickBooks certification Prior work in education Experience with Blackbaud products for business operations of fundraising, enrollment, and merchant services #J-18808-Ljbffr
