Base pay range $120,000.00/yr - $165,000.00/yr Job details Lead Energy Engineer/ Local Law Director (Energy Engineering Consulting Firm) We are looking for a Mechanical Energy Engineer to lead our team in NYC. The ideal candidate will have experience with Local Law and Energy Audits specific to NYC projects. Responsibilities include conducting energy audits and site assessments to evaluate energy usage and identify opportunities for savings and related improvements. This role involves assessing the economic, engineering, and practical feasibility of energy efficiency projects. The successful candidate must conduct cost-benefit analyses, determine potential returns on investments, evaluate plans or system layouts, design objectives, allocate resources, define project scope, and ensure compliance with Federal, State, and local regulations. Additionally, the role requires inspecting and monitoring primary energy flows within building and facility energy systems. Duties also include analyzing building utility bills to ascertain energy usage patterns and trends, preparing reports and technical documents, and presenting findings to property managers, building owners, co-op/condominium boards, and other decision-makers at client buildings. Requirements Bachelors or Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering Leadership experience with extensive experience executing Local Law projects in NYC PE License Desired. Additional Certifications Preferred: LEED AP, CEM, not required. 6-10+ years of energy engineering and/or auditing experience. ASHRAE level I & II audit experience, LL 87, 95 and 97 knowledge. Experience performing energy audits, identifying energy savings opportunities, using tools and technology to compare cost-effective energy options and making recommendations to achieve more energy efficient operation. Understanding of control theory, sustainable design, automatic environmental control systems, building automation systems, or other building subsystems. Knowledge of incentive program rules and regulations and the ability to evaluate the best program for a project. Lifecycle analysis of facility efficiency and energy conservation projects. Experience inspecting or monitoring energy systems, including heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems to determine energy use or potential energy savings. Experience in reviewing architectural, mechanical, or electrical plans and specifications to evaluate energy efficiency or determine economic, service, or engineering feasibility. Ability to communicate orally and in writing with key stakeholders, including property management companies and building management staff. High proficiency in Excel and excellent computer skills.
