Electrical Designer/Lead Engineer

Job Description Hellman Electric LLC is seeking an Electrical Designer/Lead Engineer to join our team. Hellman Electric (HEC) is one of the metropolitan region's largest electrical construction contractors. The firm includes three divisions: Heavy Construction, Interiors and Datacom. We are a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local Union 3, and are recognized as a leader in the electrical construction industry. Hellman has been in business since the 1930's and much of our work is on large projects in the Public Construction sector (i.e. DOT, FAA, PANY, etc.) Responsibilities will include: Reviewing design documents (Plans and Specifications) to become familiar with Hellman's scope; Reviewing equipment submittals (Electrical and other MEPs') for coordination/interconnections; Generate 3D BIM blocks for upload and coordination with other trades and sign-off (AutoCAD MEP, Revit MEP & Navisworks); Attend Trade Coordination meetings to discuss and resolve conflicts with other trades; Develop an Engineering schedule coordinated with the Project Construction schedule; Create 2D shop drawings from 3D BIM blocks for submittal/approval; Revise returned shop drawings to incorporate Reviewing Engineer's comments for resubmittal; Issue working drawings to Hellman's field personnel; Support Hellman's field personnel by providing insight/revisions/updates/clarifications to working drawings; Document contract changes and As-Built conditions for Record and Delivery to Owner; Qualifications: Excellent skill in Revit MEP, AutoCad MEP and Navisworks is ideal; Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code 4 Year Electrical Engineering degree a bonus #J-18808-Ljbffr
