Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Cath Lab Technologist to join our cardiovascular team. The Cath Lab Tech will assist physicians during cardiac catheterization procedures and other diagnostic and interventional procedures in the catheterization lab. This role involves operating specialized imaging equipment, preparing patients for procedures, and ensuring a sterile and safe environment for patients and staff. Key Responsibilities: Assist physicians during cardiac catheterization procedures, including diagnostic angiograms, angioplasties, stent placements, and electrophysiological studies. Operate fluoroscopy and other imaging equipment to obtain high-quality images for diagnostic and interventional procedures. Prepare the catheterization lab by ensuring that all equipment, instruments, and supplies are sterile, organized, and ready for use. Monitor and document patient vitals, including heart rate, blood pressure, and oxygen levels, throughout the procedure. Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process, positioning them correctly, and ensuring their comfort and safety. Assist in sterile techniques, including draping the patient and ensuring proper sterilization of instruments and equipment. Maintain a sterile field during the procedure and anticipate the needs of the physician to ensure smooth operation. Prepare and administer contrast media as directed by the physician during diagnostic imaging procedures. Ensure all equipment is functioning properly before, during, and after the procedure. Troubleshoot and report any equipment issues to the appropriate staff. Assist in the preparation of patients for recovery, ensuring they are transferred safely to the recovery area post-procedure. Ensure accurate documentation of procedures, patient information, and imaging results in the patient's medical record. Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols, ensuring the catheterization lab environment is clean and safe. Provide emotional support to patients and their families, explaining procedures and offering reassurance before, during, and after the intervention. Maintain an inventory of necessary supplies, equipment, and medications, ensuring availability for scheduled procedures.
