Apollo Technical has an immediate need for a IT Applications Support Engineer in the Atlanta GA area. This is a full time direct hire position with benefits. OVERVIEW: The Application Support Engineer is a vital part of the IT team, providing comprehensive support for both off-the-shelf and custom-developed applications that are critical to our transportation and warehousing operations. Key responsibilities include supporting the Warehouse Management System (WMS) built on Microsoft Dynamics 2019, SQL Server databases, custom applications, and handling EDI transactions (X.12, 856, 944, 940, 945, 204, 210). The position also involves monitoring and troubleshooting custom-built processes, which integrate with our WMS. In addition to application support, this role also encompasses custom application development and data reporting and analysis tasks. The Application Support Engineer will generate management reports using SQL and similar tools, collaborate with business teams to understand and utilize data, and provide ongoing support for data quality assurance. This dual focus ensures both operational continuity and data-driven decision-making across the organization. Support is delivered via a ticketing system, with helpdesk responsibilities and rotating after-hours support with other team members. This role requires a balance of technical troubleshooting, system administration, data analysis, software development and strong communication skills to effectively support internal users, external customers, and cross-functional teams while ensuring the integrity of critical business applications and data-driven insights. RESPONSIBILITIES: Act as a subject matter expert for business applications and interface between end-users, technical support, operations, and management. Research and resolve technical issues using sources such as error logs and product technical documentation. Maintain operational monitoring of production systems. Participate in programming required to complete support tasks. Perform regularly scheduled system updates, changes, and tests for business applications. Manage and implement EDI transactions. Create and maintain support documentation for systems. Collaborate with various business teams such as finance, operations, and IT to generate metrics, reports, and actionable recommendations. Provide data quality assurance and support management reporting using SQL and other scripting languages. Manage mobility devices and licensing. Provide after-hours support as needed. Perform tasks to support the needs of company leadership and overall company goals. EXPERIENCE: Working knowledge of the Microsoft Development Stack (C#, ASP.NET/ASPNET Core, Entity Framework, SQL Server), mobile devices for warehouse operations, knowledge of EDI transaction sets, administration of sFTP, FTP, AS2, process flows for data movement, and proficiency in Windows Desktop Support and Office 365. Working knowledge of Microsoft Data Fabric, Power BI, Power Automate, SSRS and SSAS. Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze issues, develop alternative solutions, and resolve problems in a timely manner. Excellent planning/organizing skills, with the ability to prioritize and plan work activities, set goals, and develop realistic action plans. Demonstrated quality focus, with attention to accuracy and thoroughness, while seeking ways to improve and promote quality. Strong communication skills, with the ability to deliver technical presentations and documentation to both technical and non-technical staff and management. Four (4) or more years of general IT experience with specific experience supporting end users, data processes, custom software and back-end systems.
