We directly originate loans for value-add and stabilized multifamily properties, leveraging a vertically integrated approach that includes hands-on asset management to deliver comprehensive financing solutions for our clients.Job DescriptionEase Capital is recruiting for a Head of Underwriting to guide the firm's underwriting of multifamily mortgage loans. The candidate will act as the subject matter expert on how to evaluate and underwrite bridge and permanent loans from the perspectives of private balance sheet, capital markets, and agency lenders. The candidate will use that knowledge and proficiency to help the originations team screen new opportunities and the closing team to integrate its due diligence findings to complete final underwriting for investment committee presentation and approval. We are looking for someone who is disciplined, organized, and motivated to dig into the details of transactions. This position requires someone who enjoys learning, embraces teaching colleagues, and has the temperament to work well with brokers, capital partners, and line lenders. While the priority is guiding the company's transaction underwriting, the role requires a candidate who will also be an ambassador of the firm and a key internal resource for colleagues.ResponsibilitiesDirect the underwriting of commercial mortgages secured by income producing multifamily and mixed-use assets. Underwriting the property cashflow and transaction risks requires a thorough analysis of the asset, market, borrower, and loan structure. Typical deals will range in size from $5-50M+ and be in primary or secondary markets nationally. Specific responsibilities will include:Internally:Work with Ease origination teams to review, validate and underwrite debt opportunities using proprietary models, data systems and transaction management software.Work with Ease closing teams to incorporate due diligence findings, including third party assessments, market data, and property history and contracts, to determine and defend as-is and stabilized underwritings for investment committee approval.Externally:Thoughtfully, respectfully, but also effectively manage diligence gathering necessary from borrower/brokers to properly assess transaction opportunities.Present and defend underwriting to all external stakeholders, including investors and capital partners.Attend industry events and communicate with market participants to stay up to date on best practices.Skills & Experience10-15+ years of commercial real estate loan underwriting experience.Multifamily-specific experience (including Agency) a plus but not required.Real estate credit underwriting for both stabilized and transitional properties.Collaborative work style and strong interpersonal skills.Superior verbal and written communication skills.Base Salary and Title: commensurate with experience.Bonus: immediately eligible for performance bonuses.Medical, dental and vision insurance.Unlimited PTO.Hybrid work schedule with office in midtown NYC.Seniority levelExecutiveEmployment typeFull-timeJob functionFinance and SalesIndustriesFinancial Services and Real Estate#J-18808-Ljbffr
