Our users rely on the MyFitnessPal Android app to power their health and fitness journeys every day. As a member of our MyFitnessPal Engineering team, you'll have the opportunity to positively impact those users with your expertise in the Android development ecosystem. We do three (3) days in the office (Tues - Thurs).About the Team:Our brand-new Ads team is dually focused on improving the existing Ads experience while exploring novel formats for advertising throughout the user journey. If you're excited about driving meaningful business growth while delivering a delightful experience to our end users, we want you on our team!What you'll be doing:Assist in the technical direction of the MyFitnessPal Android appContinuously ensure the vitals of the app exceed customer expectationsEmpower & coach others on and outside the team to perform at their bestLead work on high impact features that bring value to our 13m+ usersUse A/B testing to quickly iterate on user experiencesContinuously modernize the MyFitnessPal Android app codebase while delivering on the product roadmapImprove code quality through unit testing with increased code coverageWork closely with product teams to define and refine feature specificationsLive our core values in all you do:Be Kind and CareLive Good HealthBe Data-InspiredChampion ChangeLeave it Better than You Found ItMake It HappenQualifications to be successful in this role:4+ years of experience in building, testing, releasing, and maintaining Android applications in Java and KotlinExperience with Jetpack LibrariesAdvocate of clean code, good architecture, and great testing practicesHolistic view of the product with experience working with cross-functional teamsExperience setting up and maintaining CI/CD infrastructure with the goal of continuously delivering value to our customers as often and safely as possibleStrong written and verbal communication skillsEager to learn and teach through collaborationSubstantial experience with Git in a team environmentExperience working with a relational databaseComfort working with RESTful APIsExperience with MVVM or MVIBonus Points:Experience migrating a large legacy codebase to modern standardsExperience with Jetpack ComposeExperience with Dagger and HiltExperience with Kotlin CoroutinesExperience with GraphQLPlease consider applying even if you don't meet 100% of the qualifications. Actual compensation is based on factors such as the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience.
