Role Description: Awz is seeking a dynamic and experienced Sales Director (Individual Contributor) to join our US Velocity team. This role will involve working with several of our portfolio companies that offer advanced software solutions for physical security. The Sales Director will be responsible for driving substantial sales growth by identifying and securing new business opportunities across the U.S State and Local sector. Key Responsibilities: Develop and execute strategic sales plans aimed at expanding market presence and achieving revenue targets. Identify and pursue new business opportunities by actively seeking potential customers and partnerships across the State and Local sector. Leverage networking, industry events, and conferences to establish and grow valuable connections. Manage the sales process from qualified leads to closing deals, consistently surpassing sales targets by securing new contracts and fostering sustainable revenue growth. Partner with technical teams to tailor solutions to meet customer needs and articulate compelling value propositions. Deliver persuasive sales presentations and product demonstrations to win new business and expand market share. Ensure accurate sales forecasting and reporting, maintaining transparent communication with leadership regarding pipeline progress and emerging business opportunities. Must-Have Qualifications: Proven hunter mentality with at least 10 years of experience in selling start-ups software solutions to state and local government entities, with a deep understanding of procurement cycles, regulations, and challenges unique to this sector. An extensive network of strategic connections and relationships with customers, partners, and service integrators in state and local governments, including procurement officers, Security Directors, Sheriff offices and other state and local leaders. Track record of meeting or exceeding outbound sales targets, including generating new leads, building pipelines, and closing deals in a complex sales environment. Exceptional ability to convey value propositions clearly, navigate multi-stakeholder discussions, and negotiate effectively with public sector clients. Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a fast-paced, results-driven environment. Willingness and ability to travel as required.
