Adventureland Park - AV/Sound Supervisor

The position reports directly to the Audio-Visual Manager with efficient operation of the department to provide a positive guest experience.We are currently looking for a:Adventureland Park - AV/Sound SupervisorRoles & Responsibilities:Supervisory Duties: Supervise the daily operations of the Audio Visual/Sound team and any other assigned departmentsLead by example, attitude, and as a representation of Adventureland Resorts core valuesAct as an approachable mentor and coach to all assigned team membersBecome knowledgeable of performing the essential duties of all AV/Sound positions and backfill these positions when neededParticipate in all aspects of supervision of assigned employees, including hiring, orientation, training, performance coaching, and discipline.Ensure that all required meal and other breaks are being given in accordance with Iowa lawAssist with team scheduling and timekeeping activitiesDepartmental Duties: Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair commercial and professional audio equipmentOperate audio and lighting mixers during live performancesPrepare and maintain professional video display systems in accordance with large group presentationsMaintain and operate surveillance systems, research incidents as necessaryProvide support for all aspects of resort operations, including Theme Park, Waterpark, Animal Park, Hotel, Restaurant, and/or CampgroundsDevelop rapport with department staff and entertainersAssist in planning, preparing, and executing Phantom Fall Fest and other hosted events at the park locationsAll other duties assigned by leadershipLanguage: Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English; Spanish or other bilingual language skills are a plus. Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent, preferredCollege degree or technical training in Electrical Engineering, Sound Engineering, Sound Technician, Music Production, Sound Production, Communications Technology, Radio and Television Broadcasting or related discipline2+ years of previous AV/Sound experience highly requiredExcellent computer proficiency and mechanical aptitudeKnowledge of installation, configuration, and maintenance of AV systems and equipmentRequirements: Must be at least 18 years of age to comply with Iowa Child Labor LawsAbility to work flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, open to closeAbility to frequently work hours that extend beyond 9 AM to 5 PM during the operating season and event set-up activitiesMust possess a valid driver's license and a good driving recordBasic knowledge of commercial and/or professional audio systems requiredMust possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environmentProficient ability with soldering techniques is highly desiredMust possess some mechanical aptitude and be able to use a variety of hand and power toolsPhysical Requirements: Ability to stand, walk, stoop, twist, kneel, bend, climb, or squat for long periods of timeAbility to remain sedentary for extended periods of time, while using a computerAbility to walk long distances throughout the parkAbility to carry, push, pull, lift, and hold objects weighing 50 pounds or moreAbility to work in all non-conventional areas of the property, including in confined spaces or above ground-level, on scaffolds, ladders, and manliftsAbility to consistently use hands to grasp, control, move objects/toolsAbility to see differences between colors and brightnessAbility to see details of objects that are more than a few feet awayWorking Conditions: This role will be based in both an office setting as well as outdoor Park environmentSubject to frequent interruptions and requests that may require reprioritization of activitiesFrequent exposure to the variable outside temperatures, including high heat, cold, direct sun, humidity, dust, rain, snow, ice, and other weather conditionsSubject to constant repetitive motion, high noise levels, flashing lights, bright light, vibrations, dust, and exposure to various chemicalsSubject to working at significant heights greater than 100 feetTeam member benefits:Working at Adventureland Resort is about making people happy!
