The Front of House Lead is responsible for ensuring an exceptional guest experience at Floriole by providing leadership, training, and coaching to the FOH and Support teams. This role involves a balance of on-the-floor leadership and administrative duties, working closely with the General Manager and Head Baker to execute daily operations and strategic initiatives. In addition to demonstrating an undeniable knack for providing warm hospitality, the ideal candidate will possess strong leadership, organization, communication, and problem-solving skills. Main Duties and Responsibilities: 60% on-the-floor leadership, 40% administrative Understands and upholds Floriole's mission statement and guiding principles Proficiency in all stations: Barista, Register, Online, Pack, Support, Hospitality Models, trains, and coaches new and existing FOH team members on coffee bar duties, customer service and hospitality standards, sales techniques and strategies, sanitation and food safety, and other FOH aspects. Facilitates training and coaches new and existing Support team members on daily, weekly, and monthly tasks and responsibilities. Oversees FOH and Support team duties and responsibilities Facilitates communication and teamwork between the FOH and Support teams to ensure efficient execution of tasks, excellent hospitality, smooth and successful service flow, and care and keeping of the dining room and other relevant aspects. Works with GM to coordinate and execute public and private events. Orchestrates service flow day-to-day and during busy times and holidays. Communicates effectively across departments and demonstrates capacity to follow up and follow through with tasks and lines of communication. Follows and ensures compliance of Floriole systems and procedures, and works with GM to improve these systems as necessary. Measures and documents team member performance and compliance. Ensures dining area, bathrooms, and workspaces are neat, clean and sanitary. Holds team members accountable for job/station responsibilities. Delegates and ensures execution of weekly cleaning and prep. Facilitates the accurate ordering, receiving, labeling, storing, and FIFO-ing of all FOH product inventory. Executes consistent vision of Floriole brand with presentation through signs, displays, stickers, packaging. Oversees quality control and takes necessary corrective steps to maintain product standards. Continually improves knowledge around all menu items and ensures the FOH team has all necessary product knowledge. Leads and participates actively in team meetings and events, and solicits active participation from team Must be able to lift 50 pounds, go up and down stairs and work standing for long periods of time. Job Details: Full-Time Position Weekends and Holidays are a must. Shifts are Wednesday - Sunday between 7am - 4pm (subject to change) $22-$26 /hr + tips. Varies based on experience. Eligible for health insurance after 60 days (50% employer contribution). Experience working in customer service or retail. Experience working in a food service environment is preferred. Barista experience preferred. Experience using a Point of Sales system. Square preferred. Leadership and management experience preferred. IL Food Handler Certificate required. Servsafe Manager City of Chicago Certificate preferred.
