Senior ControllerAbout the Role and Organization - Senior ControllerCFS New York is working with a growing Non-Profit organization looking for a Senior Controller to join their team.They offer an excellent health insurance plan along with a 403BThis role will be reporting directly to the CFO and will be responsible for oversight of all finance, accounting, audit and reporting activitiesRole Responsibilities - Senior ControllerOversee all accounts, ledgers and reporting systems, ensuring complianceAid in oversight of grants and contracts management systems, including cost allocation plans; analyze organization's annual budgetMonitor contract reporting, including the approval, budget modification, contract reporting, revenue vouchering, collection processesCoordinate audit activityMaximize financial outcomes for government contracts and grants through cost analysis supportCoordinate the accurate and timely preparation and distribution of monthly reports for all operating unitsPrepare monthly summary of government contract receivablesReview proposed budgets, account analyses and reporting, provide leadership and advice to all members of the Finance team as neededPrepare and submit annual consolidated financial report (CFR) in a timely mannerManage organizational cash flow forecasting by working in partnership with agency leadership, assessing cash requirements for anticipated expenditures and projected revenue collectionPreferred Qualifications - Senior ControllerExperience working in a nonprofit social service settingBA in Accounting, Finance, or relevant field; CPA a plus7+ years of nonprofit fund accountingExtensive experience in both performance and cost-based government contractsexperience with Excel and accounting software (FundEZ is a plus)Must have a solid understanding of accounting procedures coupled with a strong knowledge of GAAP, GAAS and internal controlsExperience negotiating and working with a variety of federal, state, and local government contracts/grants
