Global Financial Firm located in NEW YORK, NY has an immediate contract opportunity for an experienced Java Development Lead"This role is currently on a Hybrid Schedule.You will need to have reliable internet, computer and android or iphone for remote access into the client systems during remote work.We will be expected in the office weekly 3 days depending on the team requirement.****Video/ f2f interviews are required prior to all offers.Pay rate range: $76.00 - $89.00 Negotiable based upon years of experienceDescription:The Equity Finance Technology team are seeking a software engineer to build product capabilities for the front office in New York. This role requires strong expertise in Java and the ability to work with traders, business analysts and other technologists to provide business added value through agile delivery.Responsibilities:Understanding of good design principles and ability to adhere to complex design.Resolve variety of high impact problems/projects through in-depth evaluation of complex business processes, system processes, and industry standardsProvide expertise in area and advanced knowledge of applications programming and ensure application design adheres to the overall architecture blueprintUtilize advanced knowledge of system flow and develop standards for coding, testing, debugging, and implementation .Develop comprehensive knowledge of how areas of business, such as architecture and infrastructure, integrate to accomplish business goals.Serve as advisor or coach to mid-level developers and analysts, allocating work as necessaryProvide post release assistance to business, development and support groupsAssisting in third line support during core trading hours.Required8-10 + years of strong hands-on development experience using Java including expertise with Spring or another dependency injection framework.5+ years experience in developing and maintaining highly scalable, real-time, low latency, high-volume, scalable microservices.Extensive experience system analysis and in programming of software applicationsExperience with real-time messaging middleware (Kafka, RabbitMQ, Solace, Tibco, ...)Experience working with multi-threaded applications.Strong software development fundamentals, data structures, design patterns, Object-Oriented programming, architecture, algorithms, and problem-solving skills.Ability to adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictate.Education:Bachelor s degree/University degree or equivalent experienceMaster s degree preferredEssential Skills:Strong Java Core & EnterpriseUnderstanding of capital markets.JMS, TIBCO, KafkaOracle RDBMSUnix and scripting skills (Bash / PERLExperience with CI/CD pipelines.Test-driven development, including Unit and End-to-End Testing.Desirable:Knowledge of the Securities Lending.Experience with system performance tuning and low latency Java programmingReactExperience with In-Memory Datastore/Cache libraries (Redis, Apache Ignite, Gemfire)Competencies:Strong verbal and written communication skillsSelf-motivated individual and with determination to achieve goalsWillingness to learn, both technically and professionallyStrong analytical and problem solving skillsGood team working skills and ability to work in a distributed global team environmentAbility to work on a fast-pace environment;Flexible and able to deliver quality results in the required timeframe.
