About Us: Le Petit Marcel is a French bistro nestled in Chicago's Lakeview East neighborhood, inviting guests on an enchanting journey through 19th-century Paris. Position Summary: We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Bartender to lead our bar team and ensure the delivery of exceptional beverage service. The ideal candidate will have a deep knowledge of mixology, excellent leadership skills, and a commitment to providing outstanding service. Key Responsibilities: Guest Experience: Provide genuine, professional service, welcoming guests and listening to their preferences to ensure satisfaction. Team Leadership: Train and mentor bartenders, servers, and bussers on classic and original cocktail preparation, ensuring they have the tools and knowledge needed to maintain high service standards. Beverage Program Development: Create innovative drink menus, maintain a deep understanding of spirits, wines, and non-alcoholic beverages, and ensure cocktail recipes are followed according to company standards. Operational Excellence: Oversee daily bar operations, maintain inventory par levels, ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, and uphold cleanliness and organization of the bar area. Customer Interaction: Engage with guests to showcase and upsell our beverage programs, handle customer inquiries and feedback professionally, and ensure a pleasant drinking experience. Qualifications: Experience: 3 + years in high-volume and fine dining establishments with specialty cocktail programs. Knowledge: Extensive understanding of spirits, wines, and non-alcoholic beverages, including origins, creation, and character. Skills: Proficiency in mixology, ability to use bar tools effectively to create craft cocktails, and excellent guest service skills. Compliance: Knowledge of food allergies related to beverages, experience maintaining Department of Health standards, and current BASSET. Communication: Fluency in English, both verbal and non-verbal, and ability to provide legible communication. Abilities: Guest Service: Anticipate and understand guests' service needs, ensuring a positive experience. Operational Skills: Maintain a clean workspace, complete accurate inventory, and follow directions thoroughly to completion. Physical Requirements: Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods, reach, bend, stoop, climb stairs, and carry multiple objects. Required Skills: Excellent communication and guest service skills. Ability to create classic and original cocktails. Deep understanding of spirits, wines, and non-alcoholic beverages. Proficiency with bar tools. Meticulous management of workspace. Well-groomed appearance and friendly personality.
