As a Data Scientist II , you will be squarely in the middle of honing your expertise and domain knowledge of insurance while delivering data science practices among your peers. You will refine and hone our existing models and pioneer greenfield projects to deliver new capabilities. You will also influence the department's strategic goals. How You'll Make An Impact Mines and extracts data and applies statistics and algorithms necessary to derive insights for Central Insurance. Supports the generation of an automated insights generation framework for Central Insurance's business partners. Provides actionable insights through data science. Conducts statistical analysis, including predictive and prescriptive modeling. Grows understanding of industry trends and applies it to projects. Serves as a junior member on automation and analytical projects. Works with senior level scientists to translate requirements into an analytical approach. Contributes to building the analytic approach to solving business problems. Gathers and assimilates data according to the project plan. Under the tutelage of senior team members, develops final recommendations. What You Will Bring Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field and 1 year of related experience, or 3 years of related experience. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong data visualization development experience. Ability to set priorities and plans to meet business goals. Ability to balance strategic thinking with attention to detail. Ability to lead and influence without formal authority. Ability to act as a thought leader with a focus on innovative solutions. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Ability to understand, design, and implement end-to-end BI workflows. Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills. Ability to communicate with stakeholders and business partners. Preferred Experience in predictive analytics in a large-scale enterprise. SQL experience in querying large datasets. Programming experience (Python or R). Experience with visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, etc. Experience in a Data Science or Analytics role in Financial Services. Exposure to version control, GIT Hub. Exposure to Cloud computing, AWS, Azure, GCP, etc. Work Authorization Central will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States.
