Human Resource Information System & Benefits Specialist Reports to: Chief Human Resources Officer Location: 151 Lawrence Street, Brooklyn, NY 11201 Hours: Full Time - 35 hours per week Job Summary: Join a dynamic Human Resources team at a human services organization serving a dedicated staff of 500 employees at over 50 award-winning programs and 28 locations across Brooklyn. Make a difference by managing key human resources business processes and services including Human Resources Information System (HRIS) processing, management and maintenance, onboarding, reporting, communicating and sharing key information with employees and applicants, staff support, offboarding, and compliance. Responsibilities: Manage, maintain and update employee data, ensuring integrity and accuracy within all systems. Liaise between employees, supervisors and financial operations on payroll matters for biweekly pay dates and effective administration. Provide timely and responsive service to staff seeking assistance with Human Resources Information System (HRIS) applications and other related human resources support. Manage ongoing employee benefit functions including online enrollments and changes, data management, invoices, etc. Provide support to staff on understanding, enrolling, using all benefits. Participate in training and support to employees and managers in using timesheet and HRIS processes and functionality. Participate in the staff onboarding and offboarding processes including required documentation, data entries and updates. Maintain and update human resources documents and create, update, maintain and manage paper and electronic personnel records. Assist agency in remaining compliant with City, State, and Federal regulations concerning time and pay, benefits and related employment aspects. Participate in human resources department functions and initiatives such as employee recognition, staff wellness and other retention tools. Perform other related duties. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree with two years of relevant experience or successful combination of experience and education required. Ceridian Dayforce experience desirable. Experience with other similar HRIS systems is acceptable. Demonstrated strong commitment to customer service and effective communication. Intermediate computer and office software skills. Effective oral and written communication skills. Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy with effective organizational skills. Demonstrated ability to prioritize workload, meet deadlines, and respond to urgent needs. Demonstrated aptitude for learning new technology and training staff on system. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Excellent judgment and the understanding of securing confidential information. Knowledge of state and federal employment laws with the ability to apply to personnel matters is a plus. Nonprofit experience is a plus. BCS is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
