The Lead Payroll Specialist ensures the accurate and timely processing of weekly and biweekly payroll, leading a team responsible for payroll operations across multiple areas. Key Responsibilities of the Lead Payroll SpecialistPerform accounting, auditing, analysis, and reporting related to payroll operations.Review and maintain payroll processes and procedures, conducting audits to identify and address discrepancies.Prepare detailed reports and custom reconciliations for senior pile, analyze, and report payroll data with a focus on accuracy and insight.Reconcile multiple payroll system accounts to ensure precision.Create and manage journal entries related to payroll activities.Assist in analyzing earnings, deductions, and other payroll data.Support payroll controls, reporting, and auditing functions.Contribute to preparing schedules and gathering documentation for quarterly reviews and year-end external audits.Mentor and develop payroll team members by providing training, guidance, and support to enhance their skills and ensure consistent adherence to payroll processes and best practices.Lead Payroll Specialist Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or something similar from an accredited institutionBilingual is a plus, not a must.Union payroll experience required.
