STAFF ACCOUNTANTPittsburgh, PA (hybrid)$50,000-$65,000We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Staff Accountant to specialize in the management and oversight of fixed assets. This role plays a critical part in ensuring accurate financial records, compliance with government regulations, and supporting financial reporting processes.ABOUT THE COMPANY:Comprehensive benefits package, including a pension planExclusive employee perks, such as discounts on concerts, events, museums, and moreUnique government advantages, including opportunities to collaborate across various departments and sectorsOVERVIEW OF THE STAFF ACCOUNTANT ROLE:Maintain and reconcile the fixed asset ledger, including additions, retirements, transfers, and depreciation schedules.Conduct periodic asset inventories and ensure proper tagging and tracking of county assets.Review and classify capital expenditures in compliance with accounting policies.Prepare schedules and reports related to fixed assets for financial statements and audits.Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, including GASB (Governmental Accounting Standards Board).Provide detailed documentation and support for internal and external audits.Work closely with various departments to ensure proper recording and reporting of fixed asset transactionsPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE STAFF ACCOUNTANT:Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience, with a focus on fixed assets preferred.Experience in governmental accounting is highly desirable.Must reside in Allegheny County.
