Athletic Field and Grounds Maintenance JobID: 6117 Position Type: Maintenance/Athletic Field/Grounds Maintenance Date Posted: 1/29/2025 Location: MAINTENANCE DEPARTMENT Date Available: 02/04/2025 Closing Date: Until Filled Additional Information: Show/Hide Temporary/Duration of Need Contract 245 Days per year 8 Hours per day Grade 35: $16.28- $18.38 an hour Application Procedure: Apply online Title: Athletic Field/Grounds Maintenance Department: Maintenance Immediate Supervisor: Maintenance Supervisor or Designee Job Goal: Oversee the operation and maintenance of tractors, rotor tillers, mowers, trimmers and small equipment as necessary to maintain the athletic fields and grounds of the district. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Schedule and maintain athletic fields for optimal performance. 2. Schedule and maintain school grounds. 3. Assign duties to employees and participate in said duties and inspect completed work. 4. Plan, install and maintain irrigation systems. 5. Aerate, fertilize and top dress necessary school grounds. 6. Recommend supplies and equipment as needed. 7. Develop and/or interpret plans and sketches in carrying out landscaping designs. 8. Keep machinery clean and operating safely and efficiently and reports immediately any malfunctions or preventive maintenance needs. 9. Keep accurate inventory of parts supplies and tools. 10. Keep immediate supervisor advised, at all times, of activities and progress. 11. Comply with all relevant local, state, and national building safety codes. 12. Snow and ice removal. 13. Operate equipment (tractors, mowers, grass trimmers, etc.) as scheduled to cut and trim school property. * Maintain, layout, paint, chalk athletic fields. 15. Install and maintain irrigation systems. * Clean out underbrush, cut down trees, burn/remove trash. * Report any loss or damage to equipment immediately to leadman. 18. Other duties may be assigned. Length of Contract: Two hundred forty-five (245) contract days. Salary commensurate with experience on the negotiated agreement of the Support Employees of Edmond (SEE). Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated by the Maintenance Supervisor in accordance with the provisions of the Board's policies, state law, and the negotiated agreement with the Support Employees of Edmond (SEE). SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITES: None. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Valid drivers license and a driving record that is acceptable to the school's insurance carrier. Valid Chemical Applicator License. LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups, staff, parents, and the general public. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to plan budgets and use the mathematical skills required to do so. Maintain accurate records and support documentation for projects under the supervision of the position. REASONING SKILLS: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, and the community. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both in oral and written form. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies. Occasionally the employee will lift and/or move up to 90 lbs. such as bulk furniture. The employee will sometimes push/pull items such as tables, scaffolds, and cabinets.
