SUMMARY Supervises shop employees in a manufacturing environment: plans and assigns work, implements policies and procedures and recommends improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * * Ensures safety of all employees on shift. Promotes safety programs to increase participation. · Supervises employees, including employee hiring and retention, performance reviews and discipline. · Provides support to other departments as needed. · Manages Team Leads and growth plans. · Coordinates maintenance of equipment and PMs with maintenance department · Ensures quality of all products produced and performs quality checks. · Tracking of plant scrap to keep it within set standards. · Ensures employee training is completed properly and prepares a cross-training Matrix for employee growth. · Schedules Equipment daily, weekly, monthly to hit budget goal. · Maintains good housekeeping on the production floor. · Approves hours of work and payroll · Assists in quarterly inventory ensuring accuracy of inventory tags. · Enforces all rules and regulations. Safety · Works safely and follows all safety rules and operational procedures. · Wears and maintains all required PPE. · Keeps assigned work area clean at all times. · Understands all safety devices and their operation. Notifies management if safety devices are malfunctioning or missing prior to operation. · Safely operates all lifting devices per manufacturing specifications · Supervises leads and hourly manufacturing in the shop · Mechanically Inclined. · Detail orientated. · Able to work in a team environment. · Strong interest in continuous improvement · Ability to work with offsite locations to resolve problems. · Strong work ethic · Strong oral and written communication skills · Leadership skills · Problem Solver
