Overview The Account Director is a leader who owns a large client relationship, or several small pieces of business. Internally, the responsibility to grow the account organically lies with the Director, who identifies opportunities and sells new programs and services. Role includes being the key point of contact and leader of client relationships, and includes intimate understanding of the client's business, competition, organization, people, and politics. A Director leads, manages, and mentors junior team members. This role may also include contributing to net new business opportunities for the agency. Responsibilities Client Management: * Builds relationships with ancillary client and partner relationships to find new business opportunities * Provide strategic POV about work from inception to implementation to determine if it delivers on the objectives and strategy set forth initially. * Consult on project briefs for major initiatives. * Create and manage development of client presentations with cross-functional experts and present in conjunction with VP Business Leads and other team leads. * Leads weekly status calls and guide discussion around active projects, expectations, red flags and new opportunities. Business Management and Growth: * Ensure the health of the pieces of business to which you are assigned uncovering opportunities and growing business through thought leadership, client/category expertise and consistent delivery of good work. * Shares proactive thought-starters to help client drive business. * Collaborate with project management team on statement of work, scope, proposal and estimate development for upcoming work. * Summarizes key initiatives and merchandises for clients and internal case studies. Retail and In-Store Planning: * Collaborate with the client to become the go-to expert on retailer programs and product categories, gathering insights to merchandising strategies to guide producers and the studio in delivering effective work. * Translate the client's in-store vision into clear, actionable briefs for producers and the studio to create planograms and merchandising guides. * Develop in depth knowledge of in-store regions, programs, product categories, merchandising fixtures, and merchandising principles. * Support the planning, creation, and execution of product launches, category updates, new programs, sustain and graphic updates. * Support in reporting key metrics, including demo forecasts, product placements, merchandising ancillary items, graphics reports and locations, as well as planogram and fixture placements. * Act as the internal team's primary point of contact, ensuring clear communication, alignment on objectives, and adherence to timelines and deliverables. * Work closely with creative and production teams to ensure production documents align with client goals and industry best practices. Team Leadership: * Find solutions to delivery, partner, or process roadblocks and escalates to leadership if support is required * Able to work with broad spectrum of people across levels with multiple mindsets and managing clients across multiple levels; diplomatic in providing strong points of view and making decisions. * Mentor and collaborate with direct reports * Manages up to VP Business Lead and agency ELT for key account updates and work summaries. Qualifications * Prior experience in retail, field and/or in-store marketing is a requirement. Agency experience is preferred. * Minimum 9 years of relevant experience * 4+ years of experience in management and team development. * Strategic thinker with excellent storytelling and Keynote expertise and the ability to clearly articulate and merchandise ideas and results of programs for a wide range of audiences, up to C-level. * Self-starter, skilled in paving their own path, with ability to inspire teams and great work. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. Temporary roles may be eligible to participate in our freelancer/temporary employee medical plan through a third-party benefits administration system once certain criteria have been met. Temporary roles may also qualify for participation in our 401(k) plan after eligibility criteria have been met.
