Glen-Gery, one of the Nation's leading brick manufacturers, is looking to hire an experienced Production Supervisor for the Adel, IA, Plant. As the Production Supervisor you will manage grinding and manufacturing process's including Grinding, Raw Material Blending, Extrusion, Special Shapes, and Packaging.About the CompanyGlen-Gery Corporation is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Brickworks Limited. Glen-Gery products are sold nationally through a network of over 500 distributors as well as in Canada.Duties and Responsibilities Supervisor Safety Responsibilities:Responsible for safe operation of all manufacturing processes to include coordinating department safety training for all employees, both individual & group level, and maintaining all training documentation as requiredResponsible for the implementation of the LOTO and all other GG Safety Policies and ProceduresOrganize and coordinate Safety Tool Box Talks as requiredResponsible for Safety, Quality and Housekeeping audits in all responsible departmentsResponsible for all accident investigations for all responsible departmentsManufacturing Supervisor ResponsibilitiesProduct quality, meeting all established GG quality standards - training of all responsible staffing to maintain or exceed this standard Manage the grinding and manufacturing process to include but not limited to: Grinding, Raw Material Blending, Extrusion, Special Shapes, and PackagingManufacturing crews will consist of 15-20 employeesPreventative maintenance/repairs in the facility and all equipment in department of responsibilityDirect reports - crushing/grinding, extrusion, coating mixing, molded manufacturing, settingResponsible for goal setting and annual reviews (performance management)Responsible for scheduling, labor management and daily functionsVacation schedulingMaintaining Hourly staffingResponsible for enforcing discipline of employees when applicable, per Plant Rules and Plant Safety policiesMonitor Key Performance Indicators and metrics to adequately control quality and costs as associated department of responsibilitiesAttend meetings with Operations management staffMonitor and improve efficiencies, reducing downtime in all associated departmentsDaily, weekly, and monthly reporting to plant managementResponsible for assuring manufacturing and associated maintenance costs are maintained within budgeted levelsResponsible for Continuous Improvement (CI) activities in associated departmentsResponsible for entering Purchase Orders into ERP systemRequirements and Skills:Technical Degree or equivalent relevant work experience5 year minimum work experience in an industrial manufacturing work environmentSupervisory and management experience in a production manufacturing environmentAbility to work multiple shiftsGeneral mechanical skills and abilities.Computer skills, including but not limited to Microsoft Word and ExcelThis job description is not intended to be all inclusive, and as such the employee will also be required to perform other reasonably related business duties as may be assigned by the immediate supervisor and/or other management personnel as required.Glen-Gery offers a competitive salary and benefits including medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance and 401(k) plan.EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER
