Our team is driven by our core values: Integrity, Excellence, Innovation, & Diversity.Job Summary:The Shipping Specialist is a critical member of our warehouse team, responsible for ensuring the efficient and accurate processing of all outbound shipments. This role involves coordinating all aspects of shipping, from order verification and packaging to carrier selection, documentation, and tracking. The ideal candidate is a highly organized, detail-oriented individual with a strong understanding of shipping best practices and a dedication to providing exceptional customer service.Key Responsibilities:Order Fulfillment: Verify shipping orders, ensuring accuracy of items, quantities, and delivery addresses.Packaging & Preparation: Prepare shipments for dispatch, including selecting appropriate packaging materials, securely packing items, and generating shipping labels.Carrier Management: Coordinate with various carriers (freight, couriers, LTL, FTL) to secure competitive rates and ensure timely delivery, optimizing cost and speed. Experience with 3PLs is a plus.Documentation: Prepare and process all necessary shipping documentation, including bills of lading, customs forms (for international shipments), and other required paperwork.Inventory Control: Maintain accurate records of all shipments, ensuring proper inventory management and reconciliation. Report any discrepancies to the Warehouse Manager.Shipment Tracking: Proactively monitor the progress of shipments, providing regular updates to customers and internal stakeholders regarding status, estimated delivery times, and any potential delays.Problem Resolution: Investigate and resolve shipping-related issues, such as damaged goods, lost packages, or delivery exceptions. Work with carriers and customers to find effective solutions.Compliance: Adhere to all relevant domestic and international shipping regulations, including customs regulations, hazardous materials handling, and other legal requirements.Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve shipping processes, reduce costs, and enhance efficiency.Communication: Maintain clear and professional communication with internal teams, carriers, and customers. Respond promptly to inquiries and requests.Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree or relevant certifications preferred.2-4 years of proven experience in shipping, logistics, or supply chain management.Strong understanding of shipping procedures, carrier options, and logistics software.Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) and other relevant software.Preferred Skills:Experience with freight forwarding, LTL, and FTL shipments, and knowledge of 3PL companies.Familiarity with ERP systems and warehouse management software (WMS).Basic knowledge of customs documentation and procedures.Experience with international shipping.Working Conditions:Full-time position.Flexibility to work overtime or weekends as needed to meet shipping deadlines.Ability to lift and move packages and stand for extended periods.
